Season 1/ Episode 1

The rich and poor intermingling, the plight of one Palestinian girl, someone HIV+, and boys trying to hide their homosexuality – OH THE DRAMA!

Miguel Bernardeau As Guzmán

Guzman trying to convince Nadia to trust him.
Guzman (Migue Bernardeau)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Guzmán, son of a wealthy construction magnate, is perhaps one of the most powerful kids, socially, at his high school. However, no man with power isn’t without a weakness. For him, that would be Lu. A young woman who might just be a friend with benefits, but also is his Achilles heel.

María Pedraza As Marina

Marina talking to someone.
Marina (Maria Pedraza)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Sister to Guzmán, and dealing with her ex-boyfriend giving her HIV, Marina is at a point in her life where she just wants something different. Different people, different ideas, being around people who live different lives. For be it boredom or wanting real change, clearly being a poor little rich girl isn’t the narrative she wants for her life.

Mina El Hammani As Nadia

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Nadia (Mina El Hammani)
Nadia (Mina El Hammani)

Character Introduction

Nadia, a Palestinian Muslim, was one of the lucky three given a scholarship to an elite high school. Something which she takes very seriously for she eventually would like to be a UN diplomat. However, due to her peer and the administration’s Islamophobia, she faces constant obstacles to honor her heritage yet also find upward mobility.

Miguel Herrán As Christian

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Christian stating his intentions at the school.
Christian (Miguel Herran): I’m here to meet the people who rule the roost.

Character Introduction

Christian, perhaps the one who suffered the most because of Marina and Guzmán’s family business, with 14 stitches to prove it, is just a simple guy. He likes to party with friends, drink, smoke, and have sex. Making his accident the sole reason he got into the elite high school which isn’t lost on him. Hence why, one way or another, minus studying, he is going to make the most out of the opportunity. Particularly by bagging a young lady named Carla.

Itzan Escamilla As Samuel

Samuel meeting up with Marina.
Samuel (Itzan Escamilla)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Like many a lead, Samuel is a blank slate. A nice kid from a dysfunctional home, Samuel is the type who mostly keeps his head down and if someone shouts at him, he shuts down. Sort of in a, “Hope for better only sets you up for disappointment” kind of way. Yet, with Marina taking an interest in him, things were looking up. That is, until she got killed, he was found with blood on his hands, and now he is dealing with a murder investigation.

Jaime Lorente As Nano

Nano talking to someone.
Nano (Jaime Lorente)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Nano is a rebel, anti-establishment, Samuel’s brother, and he just got out of jail when we met him. Yet, despite initially coming off as just some troublemaker, it seems he has a good heart. He is very family oriented and seemingly, as long as you don’t come at him sideways, approachable.

Ester Expósito As Carla

Carla at Marina's coming out party.
Carla (Ester Exposito)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Not much is known about Carla, as of episode 1, all we know is she has dated Polo since she was 12 and it seems their relationship might be an open one. Now, whether it is open just for her to seek out other people and experiences or for both her and Ander? Well, that is hard to say.

Álvaro Rico As Polo

Polo at Marina's party.
Polo (Alvaro Rico)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Even less is said about Polo than Carla in the beginning. All we know about him is that he is aware that Carla has a wandering eye and that he loves her despite it.

Arón Piper As Ander

Ander being interrogated.
Ander (Aron Piper)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

A closeted high school tennis star, Ander is only a few notches ahead than the scholarship kids since his enrollment is thanks to the principal being his parent. But, despite being cordial with the likes of Guzmán, it seems he is no flunky. As shown by him befriending Christian. Though, considering, on a gay app, he meets the likes of Omar, it seems Christian may see Ander in his neighborhood more often.

Omar Ayuso As Omar

Omar smiling towards Ander.
Omar (Omar Ayuso)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Brother to Nadia, a drug dealer, and friend to Samuel and Christian, Omar is shown as a low-key kind of guy. Someone who also was affected by the roof collapsing but only in the form of not having a school to go to now. Which, depending on your perspective, may not seem like a bad thing to Omar. However, what will get you interested in this young man’s story is that he is a closeted Muslim homosexual. Though, I should note, it isn’t clear if he holds onto his faith as strongly as his sister does.

Danna Paola As Lu (Lucrecia)

Lu booing the fact Guzman couldn't get the job done.
Lu (Danna Paola): Boo!

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1

Character Introduction

Lu is presented to us as a pretty basic character. She is a mean girl who is messing around with Guzmán, secretively, and is racist against Nadia. Mostly because Nadia is surpassing her academically and taking away the things which made her feel special.

Jorge Suquet as Mr. Martín

Mr. Martin being threatened by Lu.

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 2

Character Introduction

Mr. Martin is the English teacher for most of the class and is our main window into seeing how different things are done at the school for the elite’s children. However, while mostly loved, him redirecting his attention to one of the new students threatens one of the children of the elite.

Felix Herzog as Fer

Fer (Felix Herzog) talking to Omar and Nano.
Fer (Felix Herzog)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 4

Character Introduction

Fer is Omar’s supplier and was the person Nano was supposed to shoot to clear his debt. From what we are told, he too owes a debt, possibly to the same people Nano does.

Alberto Vargas as Pablo

Pablo (Alberto Vargas) before Guzman and Polo jump him.
Pablo (Alberto Vargas)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 4

Character Introduction

Pablo was a scholarship student who, at 17, was formerly dating then 14-year-old Marina. However, between them being caught having sex, Marina contracting HIV from him, and Guzman beating the hell out of him, plus Guzman’s parents paying him to go away, he disappeared.

Abdelatif Hwidar as Yusef

Yusef Shanaa (Abdelatif Hwidar)
Yusef Shanaa (Abdelatif Hwidar)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 4

Character Introduction

It isn’t noted why, besides perhaps opportunity, Yusef usurped his family from Palestine, but he has created some kind of life for his formerly 5 person family. However, with his eldest daughter, May, disappearing, and youngest daughter, Nadia, changing as she goes to a fancy prep school, he is slowly coming to regret moving his family.

Elisabet Gelabert as Azucena

Azucena (Elisabet Gelabert) in her office, talking to Marina.
Azucena (Elisabet Gelabert)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 6

Character Introduction

Mother to Ander, and principal of the school in which most of the drama takes place, like most of the staff, she struggles managing a school and the entitlement of students and parents. Leading to, many times, giving into parents’ wishes to maintain secrecy just to keep the doors open. Such as when it comes to the events of what led to Pablo leaving the school.

Ramón Esquinas as Ventura

Ventura (Ramon Esquinas) after Marina's party.
Ventura (Ramon Esquinas)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 6

Character Introduction

Guzman and Marina’s father, a construction magnate, when we first meet him he is struggling to keep the company going after Omar, Samuel, Christian, and Nadia’s former high school collapses. Leading him to come up with as many ways to get good PR, like paying for scholarship opportunities for Samuel, Christian, and Nadia, to recover his and the company’s reputation.

Rubén Martinez as Teodoro

Rubén Martinez as Teodoro
Teodoro (Rubén Martinez)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 7
Character Introduction

Carla’s father, and business partner of Ventura, Teodoro is a man who seemingly enabled Ventura to be as corrupt as he is but made sure Ventura’s business wouldn’t personally effect his own. What makes Teodoro noteworthy is his watch collection that gets stolen. One watch in particular that has all of the documents detailing what Teodoro and Ventura have done.

Irene Arcos as Pilar

Pilar (Irene Arcos)
Pilar (Irene Arcos)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 7

Not a huge amount is known about Samuel and Nano’s mom, Pilar. We know she has employment, and likes to read tarot cards. However, outside of that, not much more can be said.
