Movie Summary
Gino is DL, Italian, married, with a pregnant daughter and a mother who may only be Italian by marriage, but you’d never guess it. Luckily/unluckily for Gino, his wife is in a coma, has been for over a year, which gives him some form of an ability to be a whore on Grindr, and perhaps other apps. What he never prepped for, however, was for a twunk, Marco, whom he was talking to, to show up for Sunday dinner, ready to play out the fantasy both of them were building up towards.

Overall
Our Rating (76/100): Mixed (Divisive)
For anyone who has ever been questioning or beyond, you know a DL (down low) person’s worst fear is their personal life and sexual life, or appetite, colliding. So, for many, I can imagine them seeing this as a horror movie. But, while there was a lot that could play out, and does, that can be seen as interesting, part of it gets ruined by Gino’s hand becoming a claw.
To me, the money spent on that could have been saved by going deeper into Gino’s repressed sexuality, the chaos of the Sunday dinner, or developing how long he has been looking into taking his desires from his head to the physical realm. You don’t see a huge amount of DL horror/comedy movies, and to me, Sunday Sauce missed its opportunity to stand out in a better way.
