Paul met Jenny outside a pub, with her taking a bit more initiative than he was. However, they grew close, he opened up more, and the next thing both knew, they were in a relationship, and the world was going to hell. But, while Paul sought their love as a means of resistance, Jenny chose something more radical, and eventually, it seems they must meet an impasse as their lives divulge further and further from one another.

Paul is a nice, family-oriented young man who is aware of what is happening but doesn’t become an activist until things go bad.

From her first appearance, Jenny seemed chill. However, she became a radical activist as the world went to hell.

You Get Invested

“For People In Trouble” hits you from different directions. Jenny and Paul make a cute couple. Jenny is a bit weird, on-brand for D’Arcy, but with Paul, they are cute, and you want to see the details of their relationship. You want to see them meet Paul’s family, be lovey-dovey outside this one location most of the short takes place, and get a sense of their rise, plateau, and fall in full effect.

Also, in terms of what is happening around them, beyond how it affects their relationship, this draws you in too. Jenny mentions one thing about what is going on in the world, but from it going to that to sterilization laws, her being in terrorist attacks, and more? Things ramp up quickly over the span of 16 minutes, and while this cute romance is a hook, there is so much beyond that you want all the details for.
