Review and Commentary
Overall
Our Rating (81/100): Positive (Worth Seeing)
Sama’s teen angst, set to rock music, paired with noting that Taylor Swift holds her heartbreak songs, brings you perhaps the most well-rounded teenager you may ever see go through a potential breakup. She is a reminder that, despite how many like to box kids, whether Gen Z or Alpha into stereotypes, most are inaccurate. But, best of all, what we get is a Middle Eastern dad who may or may not know his daughter is gay, but from his love of her music, the freedom he shows, you’re presented with an unfortunate outlier of a parent who truly will support their kid no matter what.
Never mind a parent, father specifically, who truly likes their kid and doesn’t present themselves as obligated to them due to sharing DNA.
