Let’s hope humanity’s first contact with aliens doesn’t come from extraterrestrials landing in Texas.

Overall

Our Rating (85/100): Positive (Worth Seeing) – Recommended

Humanity really is its worst enemy, and after watching First Encounters Of The Mini Kind without seeing the movie it is based on, I must admit I’m curious about the original and now have an interest in what a sequel or reimaging based on this could look like. For, like the other doomsday animation we’ve seen in Love, Death & Robots most seasons, featuring high-pitched people talking as war comes about, what we get is hilarious.

I mean, the war starts because an alien’s robe moves, revealing that they have something dangling, which a cop thinks is a gun. Then, watching things escalate, as human goes from defense to offense, loops back, and then the alien weaponry they take being misused? People may not like the ending, but this is another example of me wishing these weren’t just shorts but pitches that Netflix would adapt into something.
