Our Rating (86/100): Positive (Worth Seeing) – Recommended
While, as shown via Better Man, people may not have a desire for musical biopics that stray too far from the norm, I’d submit that getting the Red Hot Chili Peppers story in puppet form could be unique and quite epic. Granted, with the way this piece was done, it seems to be full on animated, with the style making the group look like puppets, based on the hair physics being way too fluid. But, imagine the performances and the interactions.
Heck, considering the strings and the idea of a puppet master, imagine how that could be used for the narrative when it comes to the industry, addictions, people there might have been dependencies on and more.
