World Overview

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is set in modern times and focuses on a young woman named Margo. She is a talented writer and very imaginative, but doesn’t come from a world where money isn’t tight. So, when she gets pregnant by her married professor, it makes things hard, but owning her decisions, Margo plans to make things work.

Character Summary

Margo is a young woman, an only child, raised by a single mother, with a big imagination. She partly credits her father for that since, when he was around, he did read to her, and that has inspired her to become a writer. But being a writer doesn’t lead to quick money, so when she gets pregnant and decides to have the kid, while still talented, she finds herself forced to pursue other means to make cash.

Mark is Margo’s Lit professor, who takes note of her writing either to sleep with her or because he genuinely likes her work. It’s hard to tell, but what complicates them sleeping together is that Mark is married, with two kids, and has no interest in Margo being anything more than a young woman to boost his ego.
