Highlights
You Are Left Craving More
It’s hard to describe how connected you can feel to Hannah and Kelly in 12 minutes. For whether it is Kelly’s awkwardness with a girl in high school and watching her sort of baby step through her journey to Hannah finding her wife, it leaves you warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe it is because you get the best of both worlds with these two? You get the girl who was never with a guy, the one who tried to be since everyone else was on that path, and as much as you get this vibe things are light-hearted, comical even, there is still this realness to every situation.
And while the short ends perfectly, making it feel like a completed piece, it is hard to not want to see more from these two. Be it watching Hannah and her wife, Claire, be a young married couple, and see how that works, or Kelly try to achieve what her friend has. There is just so much potential here that it makes you hope this becomes something more.
Overall
Rating: Positive (Worth Seeing) – Recommended
This could, potentially, be the best of the “Free To Be Me” shorts. I’m talking, should have been the poster child for the shorts as it is just that good, five stars, give it an audience award, type good. Like, if you are short on time and can only see one, this is that short.
