Review and Commentary

Highlight(s)

Lennon and Ronnie Were Cute [83/100]

The will they or won’t they of Lennon and Ronnie is cute as there is some flirtation, maybe some jealousy, but clearly some tip-toeing regarding what might be possible between the two. I would even say you may wish these two got more time on screen together.

The Friend Group Dynamic [82/100]

While Tessa is a piece of work, especially to Lennon, there is a dynamic that makes this feel like a genuine friend group and not a handful of actors brought together due to availability and being cool to work with. This makes the arguments and reconciliations feel genuine, and even some of the hijinks feel like it is, but one of many they have experienced together, rather than some random thing created just for entertainment.

On The Fence

The Singing [72/100]

There are moments when Tessa and Mack sing, and you’ll wish they didn’t. Granted, it isn’t like they are trying to be professional singers, and it shows Mack’s part of the group, especially their bond with Tessa, but it is the type of singing that will make you wish to mute the scene and just read subtitles.

Overall

Our Rating (79/100): Mixed (Divisive)

Good chemistry makes Munchies an interesting watch, and while the singing wasn’t for us, there is no denying it is a cute short that certainly is worth adding to the reel of everyone involved.
