On The Fence

It’s Watchable But Not Exciting

There isn’t really a notable hook when it comes to “Abigail.” It is hinted Lucas could be gay, and considering his bully was a friend until only recently, it does push the need to wonder if Lucas or the other boy tried to explore feelings and things went awry. However, something as interesting as that isn’t tapped into.

The same goes for why Lucas’ dad left, the meaning behind the symbol Abigail has on this necklace she gives Lucas, and unfortunately, anything that could trigger intrigue is sidestepped. So, while you do get a horror movie with people dying, curse words flying, and things like that, there isn’t that special something here that stands out.

All you get with “Abigail” is teen angst from Lucas, a sweet girl with a dark side from Abigail, and a bunch of people who get killed for getting in the way of what Abigail has planned for or with Lucas.

Who Is This For?

Those who enjoy indie horror movies without excessive gore and/or aren’t built upon anything religious or supernatural. Instead, you just get people a bit off kilter murdering people for daring to disturb their peace and joy.
