Review and Commentary
On The Fence
The Voicemails Not Being Memorable Affected The Dynamic [74/100]
To me, the voice mails, which primarily deal with love and connection, should have been stronger. They should not have necessarily competed, but were at least memorable and strong enough to accentuate the awkwardness between Tilo and Rune.
For clearly, Rune wants to avoid that conversation, Tilo seems to want it, and a part of me was hoping everything that has been going unsaid would have been done through the voice mails. Alas, while I know the theme of them, none really stood out and helped further things between Tilo and Rune.
Overall
Our Rating (74/100): Mixed (Divisive)
I’m Not Home has a good idea in using voicemails to fill the silence between two people. However, I feel like, if that is going to be the basis for all the things they are unable or unwilling to say, each voicemail needs to feel like a real character you’d want to invest in. Essentially, they are supporting roles, but I don’t feel like they held up Rune and Tilo. If anything, it was just entertainment to them, outside of the one or two that were a little too close to home, and their affect was immediately shut down.
