Movie Summary
Violet and Marlowe are small farmers who, in their community, were the source of carrots. However, President Rabbit, in an effort to monopolize carrots, steals their crop and their seed and forces Marlowe and Violet into being criminals. But, with their lives being threatened each time they try to get back what’s theirs, it is hard to say if Violet and Marlowe are in a pyrrhic war or just prolonging the inevitable.

A Most Entertaining Revenge Tale [85/100]
There is something about Violet and Marlowe Rob A Bank which feels like it is strangely made for the everyman. I’m talking about the person who tries to stand up to a corporation that took everything from them, and while what they are doing is legally wrong, you can’t help but be on their side.
For whether you are looking at it from the rise of seed patents that force farmers to buy from specific companies or face ruin, to Violet and Marlowe being some form of Robin Hood and Little John, advocating for the vulnerable, they are your anti-heroes. Which makes you wonder, in the span of three minutes, what can these rabbits do, for surely they can’t go in guns blazing forever.

Our Rating (85/100): Positive (Worth Seeing) – Recommended
Comical because it is two bunnies with machine guns stealing carrots, but deeper if you take note of what the short can represent, Violet and Marlowe Rob A Bank reminds you that animation is one of the most diverse formats because of how easy it can hide its messaging.
