Review and Commentary
Highlight(s)
People Cope In Sometimes Hilarious Ways [81/100]
Admittedly, there may come a point when Kelly can get annoying, but up until then, she can be a bit hilarious. Whether it is trying to cope with masturbation, especially what she masturbates to, or the awkwardness she creates? You’re going to at least chuckle. For truly, the blurry line between being vulnerable, seeking connection, and maybe lacking self-awareness? It makes Dobrev walk a tight rope where being hilarious is on one side and insufferable on the other.
Overall
Our Rating (81/100): Positive (Worth Seeing)
General Admission is comical, with Dobrev giving the type of performance that reminds you that for people of her status, shorts are about showing people what you’re capable of. And with General Admission, while playing a character who is a hot mess or heartbroken is nothing new, or comedic acting, I’d submit that with the right people behind her, a dramedy could be a good move.
