Plot Overview
Off in an icy tundra, a boy, Fushi, lives with his wolf, waiting for the villagers who have long left to return for him – the last member of their village. However, with all the older people dying off and him coming of age himself, Fushi ventures south in hopes of finding others. But, after falling into an iced-over lake and getting injured, as well as discovering a destroyed caravan, he gives up and returns home to die.
But, unbeknownst to the boy, what he thought was Joaan, his wolf, was actually some form of an otherworldly spirit. One which changes form when stimulated enough to do so. Because Joaan died near it, and it was stimulated, it became the wolf. Then, when Fushi dies, it becomes Fushi, and so begins its journey, across the human world, to discover more, adapt, and perhaps learn what it means to be alive.

Highlights
While Slow Paced, There Is Something About It
Generally, slow-paced shows are a hard pass for us just due to how draining they can sometimes feel. However, there was something about Fushi that kept us pushing forward. Be it his optimism, grit, or just wanting to see if the kid would get a happy ending. Because, in the back of your mind, you’re expecting the worse, yet hoping for the best.
So despite nothing really happening, you don’t realize it lulled you to this comfortable space until you find yourself crying and excited for the spirit to continue Fushi’s journey.
Initial Impression
To Your Eternity is one of those shows that most many may write off for not having that instant hook early on. However, if you stick around, you’re rewarded with an experience that almost mirrors what you’d expect from a film.
