In secret, Grace is working at a gym, training other people, and training herself to get in the ring. Her immigrant mom seems not to know this but becomes aware after she has a dispute with the building manager, Fred. One that ends in Grace having to defend her mom beyond words.

Character Descriptions

Please Note: This character guide is not an exhaustive list of every cast member, and character descriptions may contain what can be considered spoilers.

Grace

Grace Cho is a Korean-American quickly gaining a reputation as the “K-Town Killer” thanks to her brutal matches. But, while a killer in the ring, she is a dutiful daughter outside the ring.

Grace’s Mom

Grace’s mom is struggling. Her English is good enough to get around but not enough to have the same opportunities as her daughter. Add in her being behind on rent, and life isn’t easy.

Fred

Fred is the manager of the building Grace’s mom lives in, and oh, is he a piece of work.

Our Rating: Positive (Worth Seeing)

Highlights

A Cathartic Ass Whipping

Watching Fred and Grace fight is like watching Vince McMahon and Stone Cold (in 90s WWE) go back and forth. Yes, Fred gets a few licks in, but when Grace is whooping his ass? The whole neighborhood seems to be watching less because they are worried about her and more because they want to see it for themselves. Not because they may bring it up if or when Fred harasses them, but because they’ve wanted this to happen for a while.

And you get to live that experience through “The K-Town Killer.” Watching Fred get his comeuppance, without Grace being made into some Rambo, immortal being, allows you a cathartic release as good as any comedy.

Overall
While you could submit there are a few questions lingering about what got Grace into a gym and how long Fred has been a menace, and if it is only to Asian people, there is no denying Grace whooping his ass, even when injured, was a beautiful thing to watch.
