The Introduction

In a currently undisclosed neighborhood, which likely is in New York, Malcolm walks his dog, Bruno, daily and takes great pride in him. He takes him everywhere, including into Leslie’s bodega, and tries to protect him from people like Crackhead Carl. But, with children and older women trying to steal or touch Bruno, Malcolm finds himself constantly on his guard.

Highlights

It’s Cute & Comical

While not a dog person, you do have to admire how invested Malcolm is in Bruno. From feeing him, training him, protecting him, and grooming him, it helps you understand why some people see their dog as their child. Also, considering the situations Malcolm ends up in with the people in his neighborhood, it makes the 15-minute episode a good time length with scattered laughs. All of which don’t even come with much in the way of violence, cursing, or anything like that.

First Impression: Positive (Watch This)

There isn’t really a lot to say since there isn’t really any signs there will be arcs yet. It’s Bruno just appears to be a weird comedy about a dude’s strong attachment to his dog. And with that being the only thing seen, and it being like if The Dodo made an odd scripted series, that’s why this is initially being seen as something to watch.
