Episode 2 “Masturbation Is Important” Recap
With leaving Steve, Molly frees herself to see as many penises, in pictures or in person, as she wants. But, one thing Molly is struggling with is, as much as she wants sex, to orgasm, both by herself and with another person, she is still the relationship type. So one night stands and hook ups may have an allure, but is it enough?
Steve, of course, thinks this is all just a cancer patient’s form of a mid-life crisis, and still brings in what happened to Molly when she was 7 as an excuse. But, even with Nikki not hitting the ground running as a new caretaker, as Steve makes it clear to Molly that he doesn’t really see her as someone he is sexually attracted to, all she asks is to stay on his health insurance as she goes have sex with other people.
In fact, to show how serious she is, maybe to get Steve riled up and maybe do something, she says she will spend her 401K money, rather than use their joint account again, which led to her spending $1200 for a hotel room and sex toy, never mind additional money when she got ransomed from doing a XXX video chat.

Highlights
- Molly Is So Likable, You Barely Care That She Is Cheating On Her Husband [84/100]
Overall
Our Rating (84/100)

Let me say, unless the chemistry is off the charts, generally, people cheating will drastically reduce my investment in any movie, show, short, play, or any type of production. Yet, with an acknowledgement that Steve seems to duck and dodge what his wife wants, because he is stuck on his perception of what she needs, and Molly technically did leave him, Michelle Williams has me thinking she can do no wrong. Did Molly seek out men to cheat on her husband and make it clear to him she was doing so? Yes.
Did she spend $1000 on a hotel room, hoping to get at least one man up there? Never mind spent an additional $200 to masturbate all day, from money in a joint account? Yes. But, Williams does something with Molly that doesn’t feel like humanizing, for Molly seems way too geared towards bulletproof likability, there is something to her that doesn’t feel easy to pin down.
With hearing her inner thoughts, understanding her need and desire for an orgasm, Steve overplaying the idea he is a feminist, and more, you want her to win and get the big O. You don’t care that it may not come from Steve and it all pushes me to believe, while this being a limited series is a huge plus, Michelle Williams may have that special something where she could lead a show for seasons without an issue.
