Recap

With knowing Neia is a spy, Uchimura is willing to give her grace since it has become clear to her that it is under duress. What Sylphid thought was him being into children was him actually noticing her bruising and taking note from working with Ulmandra, demons, including children it seems, don’t dress as conservatively as Neia did.

So, he made sure to feed her the kind of information which wouldn’t allow Viper to know he already had a plan in progress. Neia thought and reported to Viper that Uchimura would give dragon meat to hold over the population. Being that isn’t a staple of the Demon Lord’s country, Viper planned to bring the gim back, still at a premium, and maybe get their earlier than Uchimura to really stick it to him.

However, Neia didn’t know the whole plan. Uchimura actually made a deal to sell the dragon meat to another country in exchange for Gim, and with that, the country became flushed with it, and to add onto the Viper’s woes, Neia’s father sabotaged the Viper’s supply getting back into town to be sold. According to Sylphid, this should bankrupt Viper, but to really remove him from action, Uchimura convinces the merchants of the guild to remove Viper, and when Viper tries to attack Uchimura, he is taken down by Sylphid and put into prison.

This may leave you to wonder what happened with Neia, right? Well, while Uchimura isn’t likely to forgive Viper anytime soon, he does forgive Neia and asks her to be his second secretary. She lights up to the idea, thus removing the dead look in her eyes, and while Ululu seems a bit overwhelmed by Neia’s energy and being considered someone’s big sister, she seemingly takes to the idea.

But, while things are good now, the Calamity that has been warned about appears to be on its way, with a horde of dragons, transformed by a cloud, likely to force the Demon Lord from his throne and potentially having to get in action.

Question(s) Left Unanswered

  1. When Uchimura goes to that bar, is the bar all in his head or an actual place in the Demon Lord’s territory?

Trajectory

Trajectory (84/100): Plateau

At this point, we see “Headhunted To Another World” as a well-oiled machine. As it adds bricks to its foundation, you can see it is making an effort not just to build up Uchimura and his resume but also the world he is now in and the people, too. What I also appreciate is that, while at times the show can feel episodic, and you don’t need to start at the beginning to get what’s going on, you benefit and are rewarded for doing so.

But, with that said, I’m very interested in what this calamity might be, mainly because it feels like it may require a battle sequence, and I honestly want to see the Demon Lord get more involved.
