McKenna (Liana Liberato) showing off the dress picked out for her.
McKenna (Liana Liberato)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1 “…Stiff As A Board”

Character Introduction

McKenna appears to be the innocent one of her friend’s group. You know, the one least experienced with boys, girls, and the other options out there. The one who is seen as the nice one, the boring one, and who you kind of question, why is she part of that group?

Additional Information About McKenna

  • Her favorite color is blue.

Dorian Brown Pham As Deb

Deb (Dorian Brown Pham) grounding McKenna
Deb (Dorian Brown Pham)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1 “…Stiff As A Board”

Character Introduction

McKenna’s mom still seems to be reeling from McKenna’s twin sister, Jenny, dying of a heart attack. That and seemingly being a divorcee, with a whole lot of bills, and trying to manage that stress with alcohol. Making the fact McKenna is a good kid, genuinely, perhaps the one thing which keeps her from hitting the bottle harder.

Peyton List As Olivia

Olivia (Peyton List)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1 “…Stiff As A Board”

Character Introduction

While not wealthy, Olivia certainly has more money than the other girls, and that includes a clothing budget. One which doesn’t mean her going out for clothes but seemingly them being brought to her. But, despite having money, don’t begin to label her as a mean girl type. Olivia might be down for a prank but doesn’t seem to seek out strangers or the less fortunate. She seems to stick to her boyfriend Isaac who pranks her right back. All in good fun.

Ajiona Alexus As Candace

Candace (Ajiona Alexus) waiting to see Isaac get pranked by Olivia.
Candace (Ajiona Alexus)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1 “…Stiff As A Board”

Character Introduction

Candace may very well be the last person to join the group, before Violet, and it wasn’t something everyone could agree on. Between it being noted she smelled like play-doh, and seemed conceited, when the girls were in Elementary, they weren’t sure about her. Now they realize she is cool and while Candace seems closer to Alex than the rest, they are all good friends.

Brianne Tju As Alex

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1 “…Stiff As A Board”

Character Introduction

Eccentric, queer, and often seeming like she is waiting on a 90s girl group to discover her, Alex is probably the second most outgoing person out of the group. Second only to Olivia. Though, one could argue that Alex is a bit more open to new things and people, so we may see that she is possibly the most approachable out of everyone.

Brent Rivera As Isaac

Isaac (Brent Rivera) moving out of the way for Violet to get to her locker.
Isaac (Brent Rivera)

Haley Ramm As Violet

Violet (Haley Ramm) smiling at McKenna.
Violet (Haley Ramm)

First Appears: Season 1/ Episode 1 “…Stiff As A Board”

Character Introduction

The new girl in town, Violet now lives with her grandmother and seemingly has an obsession with McKenna and her friends. It isn’t clear why but the way she talks about them, privately, makes it sound like she is out for revenge. Also, it seems Violet has either a tumor, some kind of nasty wart, or maybe something demonic, in her lower back. Which may very well give her the ability to curse people and cause their deaths.

Dylan Sprayberry As Henry

Henry (Dylan Sprayberry)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 2 “…Pretty as a Picture”

Touted as not being as he seems by Trey, in McKenna’s eyes, like younger sister Olivia, Henry is a nice person. Currently, he goes to USC, where he used to play tennis and, when we meet him, he is in town for Olivia’s 18th birthday. Giving McKenna, who has a crush on him, only a few days to make a move or possibly let a college girl snatch him up.

It isn’t confirmed what is Noreen’s issue with Olivia, but you can definitely assume she didn’t vote for her to be her class president.

Lena (Harley Graham)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 6 “…Troubles as the Tide”

Mrs. Regan (Timi Prulhiere)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 6 “…Troubles as the Tide”

Character Introduction

Marc’s grieving mother is still reeling from the death of her son and to say it is a touchy topic is an understatement. Mentioning her boy, especially a stranger mentioning him, is an easy way to get her upset. Also, the mention of Violet too upsets her in ways that would cause her to act out of character.

John Tague as Ed

Ed (John Tague) talking to McKenna.
Ed (John Tague)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 8 “…Cold As Ice”

Character Introduction

Ed is McKenna’s father, and Deb’s ex-husband, who, a year after Jennie’s death, left them both for one of his patients and moved to Florida. He is spoken about in almost a villainous way because he left Deb and perhaps contributed to her alcoholism, but it seems he does care for both still. Also, despite it being pushed he abandoned his family, he has asked McKenna, more than once, to live with him. It’s just she refuses to leave her mother alone.

Nancy Linehan Charles as Judith

Judith (Nancy Linehan Charles) talking to Violet about Candace's death.
Judith (Nancy Linehan Charles)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 8 “…Cold As Ice”

Leah Lewis as Gabby

Gabby (Leah Lewis) trapping Marc and Violet into the game of Light As A Feather.
Gabby (Leah Lewis)

First Noted: Season 1/ Episode 9 “…Innocent as a Lamb”

Ajiona Alexus As Candace

Dylan Sprayberry As Henry

After learning what Violet’s death prediction was, and trying to reveal it to McKenna, Henry disappeared. He is still missing when the season ends.

Chachi Gonzales As Noreen

All that is known is that Noreen is alive. She wasn’t a big character but, with her throwing a party at the end of the season, if a second season is commissioned, she might become a bigger deal.

Shelley Robertson As Gloria

After the death of her daughter, Gloria decided to go live with her sister for a while.

Alex Lange As Marc

Timi Prulhiere as Mrs. Regan

John Tague as Ed

To our knowledge, Ed likely returned to Florida to be with his new family as we don’t see him in another episode after the 8th.

Nancy Linehan Charles as Judith

Last we heard, Judith was in the hospital.

Leah Lewis as Gabby

In order to save Violet, Marc set Gabby on fire to kill her.
