Blind since she was 14, due to Retinitis Pigmentosa, and in the foster care system until around that time, Murphy has had a hard life. One which included being attacked two years before the series began that might be one of the reasons she drinks heavily and is promiscuous. Yet, with the death of Tyson, she may just get her act together.

Murphy’s adoptive mother, she and Murphy have a volatile relationship. Not one which necessarily means, on sight, they will argue, but she expects more out of Murphy than Murphy does of herself.

Felix is the person who compensates for the fact Murphy gets to work for free, and is one of the main reasons Hoy and Hank’s guide dog facility may still be up and running. But, when it comes to Murphy, Felix is kind of like an annoying brother who she goes back and forth with, yet knows he is there for her if in need.
