While the final season of “Servant” began with so much promise, unfortunately, it ends in disappointment like so many productions attached to M. Night Shyamalan lately.

Summary
After the events of the last season, Dorothy has only vitriol for her entire family. Everyone, despite what happened to her, either tolerates Leanne or, in the case of Julian, are in a complete relationship with her! But, while bedridden, Dorothy can find allies. Kourtney, who has become far more than Dorothy’s dad’s young girlfriend, is one, and in time, Dorothy recruits others.
But, with Leanne ready to go to war with anyone, including the Church of the Lesser Saints, who would try to separate her from Dorothy, even when Dorothy is cruel to her, can Leanne be stopped?

Who Is This For?
“Servant,” as a whole, is for people who like a claustrophobic show featuring a young woman whose obsession with a reporter who was nice to her goes to an extreme. Add in the young woman having powers and a cult being after her? At times you will get hyped about what can happen next.
With that said, the show peaks around season 2.
Highlights
There Was A Wonderful Build To Something Big
At the beginning of the season, it seemed like so much could be possible. Leanne was becoming more powerful, and the threat of the Church of Lesser Saints swooping in for a major battle seemed serious. Then, as it became questionable whether any Turners would remain on her side, an air of desperation pushed the idea that Leanne could become an apocalyptic figure. Yet, in the end, that didn’t happen.
Low Points
It Ultimately Didn’t Live Up To Expectations
The battle teased never comes. Yes, Leanne gets attacked, and it seems there were a few on their way to have a major fight with her. However, just as we could potentially get the payoff we’ve been waiting for after four seasons? Like many productions with M. Night Shyamalan’s name, the finale is a letdown.
What I Hope To See
The ending of “Servant” reveals that Julian is now a coerced member of the Church of the Lesser Saints due to Leanne reviving him. Honestly, I hope to see that be the definitive ending of the show than any attempt to continue the story.
