Episode 8 “My Man, My Man, My Man’s BFF” Recap (With Spoilers)
Some Are More Popular Than Others: Cam, Angie, Rose, Sahara, Deona, Calil, Tae, Naeem, Husieen, Rose
Cam, to some surprise, has three women interested in him. He has Angie, Rose, and of course Sahara, and despite seeing two other women at the table, it seems all remain interested by the end. Yes, Sahara isn’t happy she has this much in the way of competition but considering Angie’s eyes wander and Rose seems pretty hooked on Husieen, she may not have much to worry about it.
Speaking of Husieen, because of him, Angie and Rose meet again as he has a connection with both. However, while Angie may keep taking hits because of her inability to be vulnerable and open up about why letting a man lead is hard for her, she doesn’t let Husieen off the hook. Him not texting back, using the excuse he was going to see Rose or Angie later, it doesn’t hold up and gets him in some hot water.
But, when it comes to Calil, though he is one of the easiest to forget on this season, he got the polar opposites in Deona and Tae interested in him. Deona likes that strong, quiet alpha vibe, but Calil shows he is capable of switching it up and giving Tae that consistent communication that she likes as well. Leaving both ladies loving the man they see, and meeting each other against when they meet Naaem and his boy.
Now, from the start, the five kids, three mothers thing is an issue. Add in Naeem’s friend got seven, and there comes the question of whether anyone, man or woman, can have that many kids and really make it to the end. One is understandable, two might be pushing it, but five? That many make it just a matter of time before you get kicked out. The only thing that could be as dangerous is someone saying they don’t want kids and don’t want to be a step-parent to someone else’s.
Small Group Chats: Cisco, Tae, Kiara, Jay
For Cisco and Jay, their eyes aren’t wandering much. Cisco pretty much is Tae or nobody and Jay? Yeah, there might be a few chats with Sahara, but Kiara says “My Man, My Man, My Man” and he likes that. Plus, no one else really going after her anymore so that makes him feel good.
Unfortunately though, for Cisco he is still in the struggle regarding Tae because of his financial situation and while she may make it appear he is her top, within the same week, it becomes clear he is her top until someone else steps up in a notable way. As for Kiara? Nothing changes in her mind. Jay is cute, his friend says all the right things, and while they may have four kids between them, it seems they are willing to figure it out.
Some People Aren’t Going On Vacation: Husieen, Naeem
In the end, the issue is Naeem got too many kids and Husieen communicates on his schedule, his way. Between the two, Naeem gets booted for Deona removed herself and for Tae, she has better options with less kids or no kids. Husieen does take note of being put on notice, however. But considering how smitten Rose and Angie are, it is unclear if they would seriously let him go.
Other Noteworthy Information
- Next Eliminated (Men): Cisco, I feel, is going to be in the bottom since Tae is unsure of him and Tae got options. Pretty much, the thing which would lead to most of the people listed being kicked is that they honed in while the person they like got options. That’s why we think Jay may join him.
Jay has Kiara and Sahara, and with the drama that seemingly will come in the next episode from Kiara, she may get eliminated and leave Sahara to make a decision. Cam has been a day 1 and Jay is more new, so as much as Sahara may not like Cam having two other women he is interested in, she may protect her boo thing considering how much she has opened up thus far.
- Next Eliminated (Women): I know in my heart of hearts Angie is going to be in the bottom again, but I’m unsure between Deona or Kiara who may join her. Angie has a good reason to be skeptical about a man leading her, but hasn’t conveyed that and it is hard to know if the men might be down for that. Never mind, there is this push that she is more a fun time than a long time. As for Deona, I feel like most of the dudes may appreciate that she operates on having her own life and expecting you to have your own as well.
However, if they started to say she has a wall up, as everyone does when someone doesn’t open up quick enough, I feel like that could get her. Which leaves Kiara. Between that friend, the ex, and feeling like only Jay has been notably interested in her, and he has options, I feel that could lead to things ending with her getting the boot.
- Final Couples: Husieen and Rose, Cam and Sahara, Calil and Tae

On The Fence
The Feeling That Some Are Holding On Just To Stick Around [74/100]
At this point, I don’t see it for Angie, I don’t see it for Deona, and Kiara? Based on the preview for the next episode, I’m fully expecting her to realize the format of this show isn’t for her. For when you take note of what they say and compare it to the cast confessions, it seems they don’t know the writing is on the wall.
Now, granted, in the moment, maybe things seem good but this is why the show, every three or so episodes, has it where you can see who is really connecting and if the conversation during deliberations is just posturing.
Overall
Our Overall Rating [74/100]
With things winding down with the group vacation episode, I’m ready to not only see who ends up with who but also the reunion show. For while the break halfway through the season was perhaps necessary, I do think it has led me to want this season to wrap up a bit more quickly than if it was all in one shot. Like, I’m at the point where I just want to see if I predicted the end game couples more than see the drama it takes for people to make their choices at this point.
