Episode 12 “The Finale” Storylines/ Recap
An Easy Choice: Tae, Kiara, Cisco, Jay
In the episode, the ladies have the men meet their families, and it goes well. Yes, Tae brings up Cisco’s finances, but it seems that while a running current in their relationship, it isn’t strong enough to wear away and break apart their connection. Tommy even, low-key, calls out Tae since he started with nothing, his wife had to hold him down, and now the tables have turned in their relationship dynamic.

But, despite Tae and Cisco, and the money worries, they end up together in the end. Which leads to Kiara and Jay, and while him being flirty may always be an issue, she ultimately chooses him, and they end up the second finalized couple.
A Hard Decision: Angie, Sahara, Cam, Hussien
Losing Rose means Angie was Hussien’s only connection, and it seemingly weighed heavily on him since that was always his number 2, and with her now being number 1? He didn’t want to play in her face. So, he self-eliminated.
This put Cam under immense pressure, but let’s be real – Angie and Sahara are two sides of the same coin. Both are high energy, would definitely bust Cam up the side of his head if he came at them wrong, and honestly, yes, Sahara is a bit more hood, but based on the way Angie’s brother spoke? Angie might just be better at hiding it.
With that said, both Angie and Sahara’s family liked Cam, but Sahara didn’t let up that pressure, and his refusal to say he was choosing her the night before seemed to be the last straw.
You Took Too Long: Sahara, Cam
So, Ready To Love does not show us Angie and how or what Cam may have said to her. It does, however, show Sahara, who is over-drawing things out and wants answers, and with Cam acting like the producers told him to add some filler, she’s done. Cam was going to choose her, but she decided to choose herself, walk away, and in her confessional with the producer, she definitely delivered an insult to Cam.
Which, based on the previews for the reunion show, this will be the first of many we see him receive.

Highlights
The Obvious Couples Made It [83/100]

Jay and Kiara, Cisco and Tae making it, that was nice. I won’t pretend I’m swooning over them, because I feel like too much is discovered during the reunion show to feel firm in any couple we see make it to the end. However, I do like that there was an acknowledgement of the issue with the family, and while you know Tae may long be worried about Cisco’s finances, until he moves up the corporate ladder, I think she is more sure than ever.
As for Kiara? Jay being flirty, I think, will just challenge whatever insecurities she has. Now, whether she steps up and moves on from them? That’s hard to say. But, I do think she got her fairy tale ending – it’s just the question of whether she got the happily ever after, too.
How This Builds Up The Reunion Episode(s) [87/100]
Hussien self-eliminating, likely after realizing the mistake he made getting rid of Rose, to not showing Angie be told by Cam he isn’t choosing her? Oh, that reunion show is going to be something. I’m especially interested in seeing some, like Kiara, understand Jay’s relationship with Sahara further and how that played out. Heck, even Sahara seeing what the men said about her and the plot to get her off the show.
Sadly, the reunion matters a bit more than the journey at this point, for that is where the true finish line is, and as shown, most don’t make it past since they got caught up in arguing on the way there.
Overall
Our Overall Rating [85/100]
A part of me hates how easy it is to sweep aside the romance, even if imperfect, because the drama is just far more potent. But Ready To Love is built to offer romance as part of the marketing, but the main course is really the drama as these people show you that dating in person can be just as tiring, trifling, and dramatic as doing it online or through apps.
