The Buxom German – Beatrix, Akira, Kencho, Shizuka

The journey to Gunma is interrupted again, but this time by a truck that seems in trouble. However, after getting his shark suit on, Akira realizes the person in the truck isn’t in trouble. They have a full-on samurai suit and a lance, allowing them to make mince meat of the zombies surrounding them.

But, what is more surprising than a random samurai is the fact a German, buxom, blonde woman was in the suit, and she has extensive knowledge about Japan, to the point of calling it Nippon like a native. This is kind of annoying and leads to Akira’s crew treating her like an adult in Charlie Brown sometimes, but Kencho likes her, likely due to her similar personality. As for Shizuka? Thinking analytically, having a second person able and willing to fight is very good, and it being a woman isn’t a terrible thing.

Hot Springs Don’t Just Open Up Your Pores – Beatrix, Akira, Kencho, Shizuka

Beyond Beatrix’s truck full of fish, which leads to the group getting to have sushi from one of the few living masters, together they also go to a hot spring. Unfortunately, the first one, like outside the sushi shop, has far too many zombies around it. However, in the night, another hot spring is found, and while, in the end, it is the expected ecchi moment of carefully placed blurs, be it for Kencho’s groin or Beatrix’s breasts, there is also an intimate moment between Akira and Shizuka.

Mind you, it isn’t anything sexual. However, with Akira talking about love, hinting at his crush, Shizuka shuts that down. At least until the night when she explains that, like so much in her life, she has to unlearn a lot to not think in analytics and more with feeling because of her father’s indoctrination. But, it seems she is growing to be open to the idea of love. Which leads to a need to clarify, for she realizes how that could be taken. However, before busting Akira’s bubble, Beatrix and Kencho show up.

New Character Description(s)

Beatrix

Born and raised in Germany, Beatrix is obsessed with Japan from history to information about places, to the point she is a walking encyclopedia. One that, luckily, isn’t just book-smart but also well versed in samurai armor and weaponry.

The Deconstruction of Shizuka

Increasingly it seems the emotional weight of the series is going to come from Shizuka as the trauma her dad caused her is unraveled. Whether it is caring more about what she thinks and feels than that of others or being more open to finding and being in love. Her journey of self-discovery, paired with Akira’s of exploring all he has held himself back from or missed out on doing, is going to be quite the combination as time goes on.

Highlights

Everything Beatrix Seems Destined To Bring

Beyond the comedy, what Beatrix seemingly is going to bring is also action. Seeing her fight zombies like that, paired with what she might do with Kencho? I’m excited for what she might bring.
