Recap

The Investigation Begins – Sofia, Carlo, Margherita

With Sofia and Carlo having their story straight, the Dean is easily handled. However, when Carlo makes Margherita aware, at first, she doesn’t take it seriously. If anything, she decides to make it a thing to lead to sex. Especially since she and Carlo are in a good place and Margherita still is focused on getting the Concordia apartment.

But then Sofia calls Carlo around midnight, and Carlo acts suspiciously. With that, the crush is no longer cute but now becomes a bit of a threat. One that makes Margherita make sure to make her existence known by heading to Carlo’s job.

What Aren’t You Telling Me? – Sofia, Carlo, Margherita

Margherita talking to Sofia

With learning her friend was having a six months-long affair, Margherita really finds herself curious about Sofia. So she follows her to work, goes to her home under false pretenses, and even convinces Sofia’s roommate she is an appraiser to gain access to her room. There she finds a draft of Carlo’s next book, and with that, it seems she knows everything she needs to know.

As for Sofia? Due to Margherita following her and interrogating her, she seemingly wants out. Not just out of whatever she and Carlo have but also out of school for going back home seems saner and safer.

Highlights

(As Of Now) Sofia Not Trying To Wreck A Happy Home

You have to appreciate what genuinely might have been an innocent moment. From what we’ve seen, Carlo isn’t a predator, and Sofia’s admiration wasn’t a lustful crush. So could it be that, as we saw when Margherita went into the bathroom, what we got was a dream/nightmare sequence? Could the girl who caught Sofia and Carlo maybe thought this up because of her thoughts about Carlo?

Heck, considering Carlo isn’t blind to Sofia and Sofia could like Carlo, maybe what we got was a fantasy to throw us off? Either way, I appreciate Sofia not doubling down and trying to steal Margherita’s man, alongside Margherita really trying to do her due diligence before making a decision on what to do with Carlo.

On The Fence

Lacking Strong Supporting Characters

With only six episodes, I’m left to wonder if these core three are the main ones who will have any oomph to their characters. For while we have met Carlo and Margherita’s parents and have been made aware Carlo has a sibling, none of them have stood out. Also, despite getting to meet Margherita’s boss and friends, and even an artist in this episode, there isn’t any real provocation to take note of any of them. They all seem to exist to let you know Carlo and Margherita exist in a larger world than these people being integral parts of their lives.
