Taking Care Of The Unleashed Beasts: Naofumi, Filo, Raphtalia, Van

As Van handles the demi-human kids, it seems Naofumi finds a way to cross the border by hopping on Filo, with Raphtalia, and taking advantage of this T-Rex looking beast to leave the country. Mind you, with very little care about the destruction it would cause as homes or businesses are destroyed. But, lest we forget, Naofumi pretty much only cares about his people right now.

Who all, once they find a clearing, are too weak to hurt this beast at all. Leading to, of course, Naofumi prepping to use the Rage Shield.

The Queen Of Filolials & The Ominous Shield: Fitoria, Naofumi, Filo, Raphtalia

Fitoria noting she is the queen of all filolials around the world.

However, then Fitoria appears, blocking that transformation, and handles the beast herself. And with there being peace, she desires a bit of conversation. First about the Rage Shield, which she doesn’t like due to the powers and ominous aura coming from it. Following that, they leave for another part of the country, maybe another world even, to a forlorn civilization. One which we’re told are the remnants of a civilization heroes of the past fought for.

There Is So Much You Don’t Know & Refuse To Learn: Fitoria, Naofumi

Leading to Fitoria dropping a lot of information as soon as everyone is fed and resting. First and foremost, she questions why Melromarc is the sole kingdom they, the Cardinal Heroes, are defending when it appears each kingdom is being attacked. Leading to Naofumi realizing that Melromarc isn’t isolated from the waves, and then presenting the excuse of him being attached and ostracized. Leading to Fitoria to tell him to make things right, him making excuses, and her realizing she may have to kill him.

Why? Well, like Filo, she was raised by a hero, and that had allowed her to have the strength she has. Also, she made them a promise and to fulfill that promise she needs the heroes to be together and worth together and if this group doesn’t want to do so, better to start over than hope eventually they’ll come to their senses.

Question(s) Left Unanswered

  1. How is Naofumi’s family, like his brother, doing during all this?

Other Noteworthy Facts & Moments

  • Itsuki and Ren are looking into the Church of the Three Heroes, and Myne doesn’t like it.

Highlights

Confirmation The Waves Are Happening Elsewhere & Understanding The Isolation

Fitoria saying she will kill the Cardinal Heroes to Naofumi.

Perhaps the biggest thing was confirmation waves were happening in other kingdoms and it being made clear, from the get-go, Myne and the king were trying to keep the heroes from talking. For, as we see, when Naofumi really gets in Ren’s ear, who can get Itsuki to listen, they can and will change their opinion. Now, whether or not they could break through to Motoyasu? That’s hard to say. However, the more which support Naofumi the less of a pedestal Myne and her religious followers have to stand on.

Myne’s drama aside, what truly matters is Fitoria pushing that there is a much larger world than what we’ve seen and with her transporting Naofumi and his team, likely out of Melromarc, we may finally get to see it.

On The Fence

Is Fitoria Really Going To Try To Kill Everyone?

The episode ends with the idea that Fitoria may kill the heroes and it’s hard to not role your eyes about the idea. Not because she couldn’t, and likely win, but it seems too drastic to take serious.

Overall

While we get a confirmation about other worlds being affected by the waves, and see Itsuki and Ren look into the Three Heroes Church, the pace of the episode feels a tad bit slow. Making the information given good, but barely keeping the pace needed as we get towards the heart of the latter half.
