Kiernan Shipka Plays Sabrina

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Sabrina?
A half witch/ half mortal, devout feminist, and social justice advocate, Sabrina encompasses a lot of adjectives. However, when it comes to the core two, being both witch and mortal, that might be the only ones which trouble her. For while she loves having powers, the patriarchal structure and sacrifices which are required to be a full witch are daunting. Yet, with it being her connection to her father, to give that up for her friends, and boyfriend Harvey, makes for a difficult decision. One which, if she can, she may try to haggle her way out of making.
Where Have I Seen Kiernan Shipka Before?
Her most notable role, without a doubt, will be as Sally Draper on Mad Men, but there is also her voicing Marnie in the English version of When Marnie Was There
as well as Flowers in the Attic.
Ross Lynch Plays Harvey Kinkle

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Harvey
As of the series premiere, Harvey is just the mortal boyfriend of Sabrina who knows nothing about her other life. Something she wants to reveal to him, especially since they’ve exchanged “I Love You” to one another. However, revealing she is a witch was too much for him, so his memory was wiped of that moment. Making him, for now, just the dutiful boyfriend who knows only but so much about his beloved. Though we do learn, in episode 2, the young man is quite the artist and comes from a coal mining family. One which got the mine by ill means.
Where Have I Seen Ross Lynch Before?
Between the Disney Channel show Austin & Ally, as well as videos with his band, R5
, that is probably how you’ve heard of Ross Lynch.
Miranda Otto Plays Zelda Spellman

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Zelda
Of the Spellman siblings, Zelda has the airs and graces of the oldest and is definitely, by far, the most conservative, when it comes to the ways of witches. Making it where she and Sabrina will clearly be at odds for Zelda seems much more for tradition than the challenges to the status quo Sabrina has.
Where Have I Seen Miranda Otto Before?
While personally not familiar with her work enough to say, “This is the best thing she was in” her most notable production would be the second and third Lord of the Ring movies. She played Eowyn.
Lucy Davis Plays Hilda Spellman

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Hilda
Hilda is the fun aunt. The one who doesn’t seem like a stick in the mud but clearly is not willing to challenge Zelda on her beliefs or take sides. Not to make her sound like a mediator, what so ever, but Hilda does her best to keep everyone happy. Also, she appears well versed in herbs and seems to know a variety of ways to heal ailments and deal with curses.
Where Have I Seen Lucy Davis Before?
You may remember her from Wonder Woman as Steve Trevor’s secretary Etta.
Michelle Gomez Plays Mary Wardwell

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Ms. Wardwell
Originally, she was just Sabrina’s history teacher with a deep knowledge of Greendale’s history. Even to the point of calling herself the town’s unofficial historian. However, after being attacked by what may be one of the 13 witches who were hung in 1682, during the town’s witch hunt, she is now someone new. Someone who wants to make sure Sabrina commits herself to the dark lord and rejects her mortal side.
Where Have I Seen Michelle Gomez Before?
Likely as Missy on Doctor Who.
Tati Gabrielle Plays Prudence

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Prudence
Prudence very well might be your stereotypical mean girl character, just with the added bonus of her being willing to murder the person she hates. Said person being Sabrina who, alongside Agatha and Dorcas, she puts a blood curse on. One which could have killed Sabrina if it wasn’t for Aunt Hilda being well versed in cures.
Episode 7 Update
Prudence is an orphan girl who may come off as your stereotypical mean girl, but this senior witch, of the Unseen Academy of the Unseen Arts, does have a soft side. It is just, after losing her mother tragically, it has made Dorcas and Agatha one of the few she trusts. Well, alongside Father Blackwood who dotes on her.
Where Have I Seen Tati Gabrielle Before?
With a career which is only 4 years old, about 10 credits, roughly, before this, mostly with her being a guest star, outside of The 100, this might be the first time you’ll really get to take note of Ms. Gabrielle.
Abigail Cowen Plays Dorcas

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Dorcas
She is just one of Prudence’s lackeys who is an orphan.
Where Have I Seen Abigail Cowen Before?
Ms. Cowen is another one of those actresses who has a handful of credits under her belt, included a brief role in Stranger Things, but this arguably is the biggest thing she has ever booked. At least, in terms of her having a role she could sink her teeth into.
Adeline Rudolph Plays Agatha
First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Agatha
Like Dorcas, Agatha is just shown to be one of Prudence’s lackeys who is an orphan. Though, from what it seems, she is someone who can take a lead on things if passionate enough about it.
Where Have I Seen Adeline Rudolph Before?
This is her first major role so, likely you haven’t?
Jaz Sinclair Plays Roz

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Roz
Sabrina’s best friend, and as much into social justice as she, Roz appears to very jovial, but still very much a force to be reckoned with. Especially upon discovering she has “The Cunning.”
Where Have I Seen Jaz Sinclair Before?
Two of her most noteworthy roles, arguably, would be playing the villain in When the Bough Breaks, as well as Angela in Paper Towns.
Lachlan Watson Plays Susie

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Susie
I don’t want to use the wrong adjectives, but let’s just say Susie appears to be someone who is gender non-conforming. At least in appearance for Susie is often referred to as “she.” From what we can see, at Baxter High she is often bullied for her androgynous looks, even to the point of the football team assaulting her. Thus leading to Sabrina and Roz to create a club so people like Susie can feel protected and aren’t isolated to the point of people feeling capable of taking advantage of them.
Though, by the end of the first season, it seems Susie may not need as much protection as she once did.
Where Have I Seen Lachlan Watson Before?
While Watson has had roles in productions like Nashville, arguably this is her most prominent role to date.
Chance Perdomo Plays Ambrose

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Ambrose
Ambrose is a strange young man. He is a warlock into necromancy and is currently serving an undefined term of house arrest with the Spellman family. He often refers to Sabrina as his cousin, enough times to start a drinking game, but with him being a person of color, it leads one to wonder who in the Spellman family likes their coffee Black? That is assuming Ambrose doesn’t just call Sabrina “cousin” as a term of affection.
Season 1 Update
Ambrose is a bi-sexual (some would even say pansexual) young warlock who, with losing his father at a young age, kind of wandered through life. Yet, despite a lack of direction, he ended up in Oxford and eventually found a person who filled the role of being a father for him. Said person is the reason why he ended up on house arrest and Ambrose’s loyalty to him is why he stays on house arrest for an indefinite matter of time.
Where Have I Seen Chance Perdomo Before?
Like many, while Perdomo has done shorts, TV movies, and isn’t necessarily coming out of nowhere, this production is probably the biggest thing he has done.
Richard Coyle Plays Father Blackwood

First Appears In: Season 1/ Episode 1 “Chapter 1: October Country”
Who Is Father Blackwood
All that is made clear about Father Blackwood is that he has a vested interest in Sabrina becoming a full-blooded witch. Why? Well, that is to be found out at a later time. All that is clear is this man is highly revered.
Episode 7 Update
Also, we learn, like many a warlock it seems, he is a whore.
Season 1 Update
Father Blackwood is the High Priest of the Church of Night coven and is someone who is very much a tradtionalist when it comes to the church. Especially in terms of maintaining patriarchal views which give quite a few liberties to warlocks and continues to have them hold power positions within the coven.
Where Have I Seen Richard Coyle Before?
The British actor has had a 20-year career, so you might have seen him in quite a number of things. The biggest production, in terms of global reach, however, might be Jake Gyllenhaal’s Prince of Persia movie.
Bronson Pinchot Plays Principal Hawthorne

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 2 “Chapter 2: The Dark Baptism”
Who Is Principal Hawthorne
Principal Hawthorne represents one of the many patriarchal figures which challenge Sabrina and her ideals. He is someone who’d rather Susie transfer schools than do something about the football team bullying her. He even gets upset about the creation of Sabrina’s club to protect girls like Susie. Making him the perfect candidate for the Dark Lord when he wishes to threaten Sabrina.
Where Have I Seen Bronson Pinchot Before?
Beverly Hills Cop seems to be his biggest movie.
Georgie Daburas Plays Edward & Annette Reilly Plays Diana

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 2 “Chapter 2: The Dark Baptism”
Who Are Edward and Diana
Aside from being Sabrina’s parents, Diana is the human who caused a huge stir in the witch’s world for Edward was a bit of a golden child. He was a high priest and received his calling around the age of 6. His mentor was Father Blackwood but he long surpassed him in the church to the point Hilda says he grew quite a following. Hence why it is rumored that Edward and Diana were killed.
Where Have I Seen Georgie Daburas Before?
Georgie has had many a guest acting stint, but this is seemingly his biggest role to date.
Where Have I Seen Annette Reilly Before?

Like many in the cast, while Annette has had a few roles previously, and has done quite a few shorts, this is probably the most noteworthy character she has gotten to play.
Justin Dobies Plays Tommy

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 3 “Chapter 3: The Trial of Sabrina Spellman”
Who Is Tommy
Tommy is Harvey’s older brother and often the person who stands in between the wants Mr. Kinkle has for Harvey and the future Harvey wants for himself.

Making his youngest rejecting that life a bit insulting to him. Though it may not hurt as much as his oldest making it seem that the only reason they both are miners is because they didn’t fight for their dreams.
Where Have I Seen or Heard of Christopher Rosamond Before?
John Rubinstein Plays Daniel Webster

Daniel Webster is a mortal, taught witch’s law by Sabrina’s father, who acts as her lawyer when she is put on trial. He is also a man who made a deal with the dark lord to become one of the best lawyers around. Unfortunately for him, that led to him mostly getting bad people off and one of said bad people killed his daughter.
Where Have I Seen or Heard of John Rubinstein Before?
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
Darren Mann Plays Luke

First Noted In: Season 1/ Episode 3 “Chapter 3: The Trial of Sabrina Spellman”
Who Is Luke
Luke is introduced as Connor’s ex-boyfriend and possibly Ambrose’s next. But there is something about him that just doesn’t seem right.
Season 1 Update
Luke, like Ambrose, seems to be an impressionable young man. The kind who finds himself attracted to the mentorship of a man who plans to only do what may lead to Luke finding himself in trouble. But, unlike many a warlock, it seems Luke isn’t as much of a whore.
Where Have I Seen or Heard of Darren Mann Before?
Perhaps Van Helsing.

Well, with Nick’s fascination with Sabrina’s father, Harvey may have someone to worry about.

He had a role on Grown-ish
