In what maybe the last filler episode before the aptly named “El Dorado” episode, Luke gets a cosmetic change.

Episode Focus: The Demon Sealer | Luke
Remember Luke? The silver haired dude we saw walking to El Dorado? Yeah, somehow he got a motorcycle and is officially on his way. However, like Gina, he made a stop in the Land of Guidance and before he left he received a request to handle a local horror. However, this isn’t a run of the mill Horror. This Horror is a Makai Knight turned Horror.
Not like how Christopher, The Silver Knight, is. Rather, a full on Horror incased in Makai Knight Armor. Which, ends up being a fairly easy task for Luke, despite him acting as if his bullets are really that effective against everyday Horrors. Nevermind one which has Makai Knight Armor. But, let’s not discount him using a lance and the power of Makai Knights who seemingly died or tried to maintain the seal’s strength when it comes to this.
Commentary
I would love to do, as I feel I often do with shows I like, and make a mountain out of a molehill. Maybe bring up how taking out this Makai Knight turned Horror might help Luke in his eventual rematch with his father. Perhaps prove that he is ready for the rematch and may stand a chance. Yet, this episode isn’t that deep. It’s definitely a filler episode in which the only noteworthy thing is now Luke has a haircut.

Okay. I might wait until this one is done and check out final opinions before I jump into it. Thanks for the heads up.
I’m definitely labeling this as mixed at this point. While it started off okay, there have only been a handful of times I really thought this was something. Mostly in the form of Luke’s backstory, and how they handled Sophie early on. Outside of that, Sword has remained kind of a mystery since we haven’t gotten to learn much of his backstory, including about his own younger sibling. The early consistent violence against women and ongoing oggling of big breasted women can get annoying, but it’s overall the kind of show which just goes under the radar. It doesn’t receive scorn because it does have its peaks, but doesn’t receive serious praise for with every peek comes you questioning whether the episode should be considered filler since the show stretches out our eventual arrival in El Dorado. Which, seemingly will finally come about in episode 15.
I should add, mention of El Dorado is made sporadically throughout the first 12 episodes to the point you could imagine this being better as a tight 13 episode season vs. a 24 or 25 (including recap episode) one.
I’ve been looking at this series and wondering if I should pick it up or not. At this point what are your thoughts? Is it worth trying?
