Movie Summary
A widow finds himself tasked with getting his daughter a bra. It’s 2005 in Egypt, so the dad is old school, and talking about women’s underwear and things like that is not only uncommon for men, but just talking about it publicly feels taboo. But, as a father, he doesn’t want people talking about his daughter unkindly, so he’ll have to suck it up.

Review and Commentary
Highlight(s)
The Awkward Side Of The Father/ Daughter Relationship [83/100]
We often see the arguments, the princess treatment, but when it comes to a man’s daughter growing up, usually the reaction is his discomfort. We don’t often get to see him do the things usually relegated to the mom, like getting a bra.
Which is what makes 32B comical and sort of sweet. Seeing a grown man, albeit in 2005 Cairo, not go to a discreet shop but somehow end up in one made for lingerie, for his daughter? It’s hilarious. Granted, it makes you wonder: with how much men know now, would it be the equivalent of DISC or something similar? Hard to say.
But, you do have to appreciate that the dad didn’t move based on being ashamed of his daughter, how her body was developing, or anything like that. He wanted to step in and didn’t want to offload the task to someone else.
Overall
Our Rating (83/100): Positive (Worth Seeing)
32B lives in the realm of shorts you’d love to see expanded, especially considering its premise. An Egyptian dad, single parent at that, trying to raise his teenage daughter. It has serious potential because of all the scenarios involved, and add in that they are Muslim? Oh, it could address some truths while also combating stereotypes at the same time.
