Summary
While the Commander was willing to sacrifice her daughter to get Fine, that doesn’t mean she won’t task her brother Kubo to retrieve her. But unfortunately for Kubo, he is on a collision course with Allegro, who, upon the Elders’ orders, is supposed to retrieve the queen and get her back to her senses.
However, both fail. Before either shows up, Fine and Momo bond, and with that, her prejudice against vampires begins to wear down, and she decides she’d rather partner up and run away with Fine than return home with her uncle.

Highlights
How Ignorant Humans Are Of Their Own History
What develops slight intrigue is that humans don’t know their own history and, strangely, have not only bequeathed it to vampires but have damned all that formerly made life worth living. Which we’ll have to wait to see whether that was a political move or ignorance that developed due to fear that any type of performance could draw vampires.
