Plot Recap
You’re Doing Good – Justin, Mieka
Of all the men, Justin receives the least criticism. When Mieka’s father meets him, the only negative that comes up is that he has been single for 4 to 5 years. When Mieka goes on a separate date with Justin, the newest issue is that she thinks they shouldn’t go 4 to 6 hours without communicating.
That’s a bit much for Justin, but it’s neither a red flag nor a deal breaker; it’s just something he and her have to work out.
Like Sidestepping Landmines – Patrice, Chaz, Alonzo, Vanessa
For Patrice and Vanessa, their families’ meeting Chaz is a mixed bag. Vanessa’s sister thinks Chaz is a smart guy but also manipulative because of the way he answered all his questions with a level of calculation that raised a red flag. Patrice’s brother and mother? Well, Chaz looks like her dad, so the mom was smitten, and the brother? In his mind, Chaz is ready for a wife, and in terms of Patrice’s brain, she recognizes him as a good choice.
However, for Patrice, Alonzo is fun, and while Alonzo didn’t meet Patrice’s mom, he did meet her brother, and he thought Alonzo played too much. Not only that but he sort of saw himself in Alonzo, seemingly not in a good way. Which leaves Patrice torn between the butterflies in her stomach and the logic that Chaz’s maturity inspires.
You Lucky There Isn’t A Elimination This Week – Laron, Mya
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, for Laron, Mya’s mother was too busy to meet with him. Now, the positive of that is that Laron got possessive, aggressive, and cursed at Mya, so her mom hearing about that would have likely ended things immediately. The negative? Well, Mya has been in an abusive relationship, so Laron showing this side of himself is a giant red flag that, with it being brought up during elimination, makes it not look good for Laron.
However, with the next episode being the season finale, sans the reunion show, Tommy allows Laron another week to try to win Mya back.

On The Fence
Not Being Too Invested In Any Couple
Right now, the process of elimination is coming into play, and for some, like Mya and Laron, it’s hard not to laugh at the final choice since Mya is starting to see why Laron made sure to torpedo William’s chances. But even for the less problematic choices, it seems like we didn’t get good matches.
In my mind, Justin and Mieka may have gotten past the superficial phase, but with her talking about every four to six hours talking and his reaction? He might very well be the type who wants to communicate and show he is invested but also have time for himself. This isn’t to say these two aren’t going to end things and not end up in the final three, but there is this sense that Mieka wasn’t anyone else’s cup of tea, mainly due to not wanting more kids, so she attached to Justin. Then, on Justin’s side of things, he didn’t want to compete, so he focused on the person on the cutting block.
Which leaves Patrice and Chaz. To me, Chaz is glad for the attention and is also overwhelmed by it. Patrice might be the sole person who is truly in an understandable conundrum. She is 42, with Chaz 5 years her junior and Alonzo 7. Patrice may not be vying for kids but wants a stable family. The problem is that Chaz is not only new, but his stability comes with a sense of being boring. Alonzo, on the other hand, might be two years younger than Chaz, but the basis of his personality is being fun and spontaneous. Alonzo gives Patrice life, and Chaz offers stability.
Her situation is the sole one where you can be torn between who she should pick. Though factoring in Chaz seems torn still between Patrice and Vanessa, maybe this decision isn’t as hard as it seems.
