Ready To Love (S09E10) Recap/ Review – It’s Overwhelming To Have Too Many Options
As most lock into who might be their final choice, pressure is put on Chaz to act like the journey is almost over.
Plot Recap
This Is All Too Much – Chaz, Patrice, Rasheena, Vanessa, Justin
With Vanessa putting on that pressure, Chaz feels overwhelmed by the idea of making a decision, pushing him to need some space. Patrice, reeling from William’s elimination, too, has required space, and after hearing Chaz going through it, she decides to be there for him as he decides to leave the getaway but stay on the journey.
Vanessa isn’t happy about this, but Rasheena is a bit distraught. With things ending between her and Justin, Chaz was her only connection, and he did not talk to her or anything before leaving. She took that to heart, and it might have ruined the rest of her time at the getaway.
Pairing Up – Patrice, Alonzo, Laron, Mya, Mieka, Justin
For many, there is only one option left. Mieka and Justin are locked in and with Laron poisoning Mya against William, now he has her all to himself. As for Patrice? Yes, there is some interest in Chaz, but he left, and that allowed Alonzo to make a move and further the work he has put in to win Patrice for good.
Self-Elimination – Rasheena, Vanessa, Chaz
After the women have two eliminations back to back, the men are back in power, but it all comes down to Chaz. It’s clear he has to make a decision for Rasheena and Vanessa; he only has any dynamic with them at this point, but it’s decided as a group that Rasheena will be the one who may or may not be eliminated.
But, whether to save face or because she was done, Rasheena self-eliminates.
Other Noteworthy Information
- Next Eliminated (Men): While I feel like Laron should have been eliminated long ago, he is now likely Mya’s final choice, so he doesn’t qualify. This means Patrice will likely have to choose between Alonzo or Chaz since she is the only woman right now with multiple connections.
- Next Eliminated (Women): The only person whose elimination would make sense is Vanessa. Mieka is paired up with Justin and Mya with Laron, but Vanessa, being the catalyst for Chaz feeling the need to leave, will likely be the reason she is told, “You are not ready to love.”
- Final Couples: Alonzo and Patrice, Justin and Mieka, Laron and Mya

Highlights
Laron’s Long Game
I got to give it to Laron at this point. He should have been eliminated long ago, but unlike many who have been on the show, he knew how to play the long game. He helped to get rid of people who were against him, like Alexis, found a way to eliminate his competition, like William, and has been one of the most notable cast members to remind you that this is far more about winning a competition than about love. The love is just a bonus.
Granted, “Ready To Love” doesn’t operate on the idea that if you make it to the end, you win money, take a trip, or anything like that, but in many ways, you do get to keep your pride and dignity. You get to prove that despite your previous struggles, you are desirable to somebody.
Which, for many, is likely an ego booster, and I’m sure Laron making it this far has him wiping the dirt off his shoulder. After all, for someone who goes out on a regular basis to still be single, a win on a show like this might be just what he needs.
Chaz Being Overwhelmed
Many may see Chaz as privileged, for almost every woman, at one time or another, seemed to have an interest in him. However, heavy wear the crown, and as shown, most women don’t want to be kept waiting for a decision. Those like Vanessa feel like they’ve been locked in all this time; what are you waiting for? Meanwhile, others who may have had options but they are dwindling down, could see things as, without this distraction in place, you have no reason not to step up.
It’s a lot, from what it appears. Lest we forget, dating multiple people at once is a skill. Then you are dating them on a television show where they know about each other, and there are meetings where they are expected to talk about you and what you do or don’t do for them? That’s a lot of pressure and doesn’t appear to be an enviable position.
After all, someone is going to get hurt, you will have to play the villain in someone’s story, and not everyone is built for that. Plus, again, this is televised, so on top of whatever guilt you have, social media is going to follow up on it as soon as they find your page(s).
