Episode 24 “Where The Sunshine Is” Storylines/ Recap
- Nanami continues to struggle to fulfill her assumed purpose in Shiroha’s life, especially as Kobato seems unable or unwilling to be vulnerable and soft with Shiroha.

- But, with Nanami regaining her memories of being Umi, this seemingly may help her, especially as she recalls how much she enjoyed the Natsudori festival, and believes Shiroha could as well.
- However, with the lanterns representing saying goodbye to the dead, Shiroha rejects the festival outright, and this leaves Nanami back at square one.
- Thankfully, though, after talking with Grandma Kato, it seems Shiroha remembers conversations with her mom, and it pushes the idea that maybe, like Hitomi, she can find a way to see her dad, and maybe be reunited with her mom as well.

Overall
Our Overall Rating [76/100]
While the Grandma Kato sighting was a welcome sight, it was also a bit of a letdown since she didn’t give us much, if anything. But, while we’re not getting much, if anything, out of Summer Pockets emotionally, we can recognize that it could just be that we’ve built up a tolerance. We’ve seen the better days, connected with other characters with ease, so being stuck with Umi past her prime, and this extended Shiroha arc, which feels surface-level, is the issue for us.
Plus, with the removal of Takahara, I feel like I’m learning that slice-of-life anime, without a romantic element, just isn’t a subgenre that does much for me.
