After the battle in the last episode, things shortly return to normal. People regroup, rebuild, but naturally, no one plans for peace to last forever.

Trigger Warning(s): Sounds of people vomiting

A Trip to Eibos: Charioce

With what can be considered a victory over the gods in place, Charioce is looking towards his next weapon. Something we get to see but doesn’t get much in the way of explanation. However, the individuals involved with Dromos are present so we know it’s big.

Commentary

Anyone else assume that, sooner or later, Charioce is going to summon a Bahamut? For with so little said about this ancient civilization, my automatic assumption is they were wiped out by Bahamut and that is why there is such a minimal trace of them. That is, outside of what the gods were storing.

Coping Mechanism: Nina

For a long time, we were left under the impression Nina became a dragon due to becoming hot and bothered. Well, according to her mother, that may have only been partly true. You see, Nina’s father dying is also a factor. Men who would remind her of him, they also lead her to burst into a dragon. If just because it lets her express the rage of losing him. So when we have seen her act wild and seemingly out of control, those men must have triggered something which reminded her of her father. Thus further proving that Charioce is different. For after he hugged her, she remained fully in control.

Commentary

What Nina’s mom said sort of throws me off. If only because now there comes a question of who reminded Nina of her dad and who she had a physical crush on? Much less, did those two things every crossover? Like with Charioce, is this some Electra complex?

Which I think is worth noting for, with us being in a new arc, the opening and ending themes have changed. And the ending theme feels especially telling since it has Nina in a Cinderella inspired story. One in which Charioce is the prince. So while I doubt this whole Electra thing will be gone into, I have to ask whether Charioce x Nina are end game?

On The Road Again: Nina, Jeanne

Nina’s mom consoling Jeanne D’Arc.

As noted, Jeanne and Nina return to Nina’s home and sadly, for Nina’s 6 or so siblings, it is a short visit. But, without much in the way of question or argument, the village elder agrees to take Nina and Jeanne to the land of the gods.

Commentary

Question: Considering the gods know where the dragon village is, and they know where the gods are, or at least their elder does, why are they not part of the war? For while I probably asked this early on, you’d think with these hybrid beings in existence, everyone would want them. Then again, who knows if the dragons we have seen thus far may have been the males of the village. For it hasn’t been made clear what are these lucrative jobs they do which leads so many of them being away from the village for so long. Much less, with the way Nina’s dad was talked about, in terms of his death, what easier way there would be to stop a fireball than to turn into a dragon and use your own flames to exhaustion?
