Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

While this episode takes on the issue of discrimination against Demis seriously, it’s after school special handling of it is perhaps the last straw for me.

Main Storyline

With Kusakabe being bad mouthed, once more Takahashi steps in as if he is a guidance counselor to console one of the demi students. Eventually leading to Hikari, who overhears the exchange, confronting the girls gossiping about Kusakabe. Leading to a very after school special moment about not bad mouthing people.

But perhaps what matters here is all the demi students get established and alongside Satou, Takahashi notes they should all support each other. Leading to everyone getting a hug, well except Satou due to being a succubus, and things getting odd when Takahashi hugs Machi’s body and feels her breasts too tightly against him.

Oh, but before I forget, another thing worth noting is Himari not trusting Takahashi since he sees him as fetishizing her sister. Which, in a way, he is, but it seems he has explored the deeper meaning, the duality, which Hikari and the other girls’ face. Though with the way he is affectionate toward the girls, it still gives Himari pause.

Commentary

Though it is nice the show finally has Takahashi acknowledge he is perhaps a little too friendly with these girls to a point, it seems he doesn’t care. On top of that, while it was nice that discrimination against Demis, them being more than their particular peculiarities, and things of that nature were noted, I can’t continue. That slice of life element is just too strong and this show is just too mundane. Especially since I usually watch this before or after Emerald City so it just came to a point where one had to be dropped. So, this was the one given the axe only because it is hard to get comfortable with Takahashi having a harem with minors and being, at best, oblivious about all these crushes they have. Though, at worse, he enjoys the attention since it feeds into his otaku fetish and even though he may fear getting in trouble, there is a thrill in that.
