The Gist
Summary
- With Lord Alfreya deciding on Angel supremacy, he betrays the elves and even captures the Great Elder who, alongside Reiren, a shrine maiden, wished to gain clarity and talk.
- Because of this grand betrayal, Kai, Jeanne, and the others are allowed to move amongst the Elven forest unharmed, and Reiren, through Qubirey, even offers to make a contract.
- Qubirey has set a trap for the humans but will exchange the hostages for the Great Elder’s return, and after some negotiations, an agreement is put in place.
- But, with Lord Alfreya being the most powerful of the celestials, with his greatest soldiers backing him, who knows if Kai and Jeanne can stand against him and leave unscathed.
Review
- This was a well-balanced episode as we got a sense of the hierarchy of the celestials and what the issue seems to be that could cause civil war.
- Alongside that, we got some sense of culture regarding the elves we’ve met, even if in a small way.
- Now, as for the battles we’re introduced to, admittedly, things are on a much smaller scale with fewer beings involved, which raises an eyebrow.
- However, if there is a need to have Jeanne and Kai take on Lord Alfreya, with Reiren there to assist, maybe this fight is being underestimated regarding entertainment value.
