Exes and New Beaus: Sam, Jeff, Sunny, Reiki
Divorce is hard to deal with but especially for Sam since she hasn’t decided on choosing a side and doesn’t want to. So when she has an impromptu dinner party that Jeff and his new lady, Reiki, are at, it makes Sunny showing up a bit awkward. Mostly since she and Jeff bicker but what do you expect from two divorced people treating their former home like a timeshare?
We Need To Talk About Phil: Marion, Sam, Phil
With Marion coming around means the conversations Sam always dread, having to recognize Phil is getting older and her eccentricities becoming worrisome. However, the way Sam sees it, Marion just wants to sell Phil’s house, put her in a home and clean his hands of her. Perhaps as a means of payback for a childhood that was a bit too hard on him. But with Sam the one who lives in LA, across from Phil, as before, she rebuffs Marion and sends him on his way.

Papa Can You Hear Me: Murray, Sam
Yet, despite dismissing Marion, there is a need to question, when Sam is alone, should she take away Phil’s license and strip her of her autonomy? This leads to a Murray sighting and he seems against the idea. Though, with him dead, what can he really contribute to the situation anyway?

Just A Normal Day In The Fox Household
One of the things which can leave one with a mixed reaction to this show is that it can be, for multiple episodes, very slice of life. Meaning that nothing eventful happens and while there might be a moment or two worth noting, if you missed the episode you won’t feel like you’ve missed much. This episode is like that for outside of the Mer thing, it pretty much is same old, same old. Marion wants to put Phil in a home, Phil is being her weird self, and Sam is dealing with the conflicting personalities in her household.
