With the discovery that Hotaru is working at a cat maid establishment comes some possessiveness from Yuma. The kind she feels she has no right to have.

I Got To Get Away: Yuma, Hotaru, Takeda, Fujiwara

It seems Takeda and Yuma at least are friendly enough to talk and hang out. There isn’t any signs dating is on the agenda, but that might be for the best. If only because Yuma, thanks to Hotaru not coming onto her anymore, finds herself wanting to take over the active role in their relationship.

Take for instance her learning Hotaru works as some sort of cat maid. This makes her very uncomfortable because the guys she sees as creeps. So, at first, she joins up but after a half-hour, she taps out. But before that happens, as Hotaru helps with her outfit, there is a bit of fantasizing. This is due to Yuma never using a garter and having Hotaru put it on. Which, with her so close to her pelvic region, her breath sends chills up Yuma’s spine.

Netsuzou Trap: Season 1/ Episode 8 "Uncontrollable Feelings" - Yuma squirming as Hotaru touches her to put a garter belt on.

Also, with Hotaru’s cleavage in plain sight, it triggers memories from their past make out sessions. It reminds Yuma of how soft Hotaru is.

Leading Yuma to really question why Hotaru is working there, but she is very secretive about it. Which eventually ticks Yuma off since both Takeda and Fujiwara knew Hotaru had a job and she didn’t. Then, to really put a stake in her heart, Fujiwara knows why Hotaru is saving up – to move. Supposedly, to move away from Yuma since she feels smothered.

Commentary

Netsuzou Trap: Season 1/ Episode 8 "Uncontrollable Feelings" - Hotaru asking if she must always do things the way Yuma wants.

There is such a need to understand why Yuma is getting increasingly jealous. At one time, she made it sound like Hotaru was raping her but now she fantasizes about her? She goes beyond the sexual thing and now worries about her safety, seemingly beyond that of a friend. Thus making it really seem she needs to either step up or accept what is being done.

Which I say for as much as Fujiwara is usually full of it, I believe him when he says Hotaru is trying to get away from Yuma. She has made it clear herself that this back and forth they do is not making her happy. Much less it being Yuma’s way or else Hotaru is put in a position to feel guilty. So it is only natural she would want to distance herself from someone who makes her feel this way.

Netsuzou Trap: Season 1/ Episode 8 "Uncontrollable Feelings" - Yuma questioning the idea of Hotaru wanting money to get away from her

But, with all that said, there remains the question of why Yuma has these feelings? On one hand, it seems her and Hotaru had a thing going since when they met. Something Hotaru just happened to be the first person to act on, beyond friendship.

Yet, I won’t pretend as if Hotaru is innocent in all this. Yuma was dating someone and seemed clearly uncomfortable in the majority of her and Yuma’s hook ups. Granted, the situation between them turned into some weird kind of kink, but it has never been something Yuma openly admitted she liked.

Which seems to have become the problem here. Hotaru can’t keep up this weird relationship and I’d argue she is tired of having relationships like the one she has with Fujiwara. At this point in her life, it seems she doesn’t want to deal with people who are so hot and cold towards her. That force her to spend so much time trying to navigate their swaying emotions.

But, it remains to be seen whether Yuma may confess as Hotaru distances herself more and more. Never mind if Hotaru, after all, this, may still be willing to go there with Yuma.

Overall

Highlights

  • The Yuma and Hotaru relationship getting more complicated, yet not ridiculous.
  • Fujiwara being just the right amount of jackass.
