The Pawn Who Is A Head Hunter: Sophie, Luke, Sword

Garo - Vanishing Line Season 1 Episode 7 Scout - Pawn

It seems when it comes to El Dorado, it is an invite only kind of place. One which recruits those in technology and even those who are elite video game players. But, there is a slight issue with recruitment. Their headhunter, Pawn, like the aliens from Parasyte, has a thing about eating people. Thus taking out some very worthy candidates.

Of which, with it being nearly a dozen people missing, an unnamed client makes a request for something to be done. Which, despite knowing Horrors are more easily tracked through the internet than on foot, Luke and Sword still use the old fashion method. Something that does lead to them to a sliver of information in regards to a mention of El Dorado but that’s it. The person who really gets the tea is once again Sophie through her only paranormal group.

But, considering the numbers Pawn was rounding up, so comes the question of where and what they were going to? The idea is a Horrors nest but it isn’t necessarily clear.

On Toward Glory: Sister, Sophie, Sword, Luke

What is though is that this being referred to as Master Knight and Dark Knight is looking for Sophie. Also, the home Sophie lives in, it is on Pawn’s list of places to “recruit.” Leading to Sophie nearly being snatched into Pawn’s mouth but luckily the sister fights him off. However, she ends up killed. Not by Pawn mind you, but the Master Knight who sees her as someone getting in her way.

You see, the King of El Dorado has summoned Sophie and so he has come to retrieve her. But to get to her, he’ll have to go through Sword. Him alongside Luke who fires a bullet right at the Master Knight.

Question(s) Left Unanswered

  1. The Dark Knight is a Horror, right? Also, is he related to Luke or are there a lot of brown skinned people with silver hair in this universe?
  2. Who are these clients and what is this organization Luke and Sword work for?
  3. When they call for backup, who exactly is considered backup? Also, how many people work for this organization?

Highlights

El Dorado Comes Off The Back Burner

Garo - Vanishing Line Season 1 Episode 7 Scout - Dark Knight

El Dorado has barely been kept as a relevant topic. As we got to know Sword, Luke, Gina to a point, and Sophie, its name being dropped was the sole thing which reminded us it existed. Meanwhile, all we were left to assume was it was a website. Maybe an online world.

However, now, after we learned about Sword and Luke’s home life, El Dorado is being moved to the front burner. Which is quite exciting since this guy who looks like Luke’s father in a way, he is our one-man welcoming party. Someone who not only makes an entrance by looking like Luke but killing the sister. Thus changing the dynamic of the show, for now, Sword can’t just be in Sophie’s life part-time. He has to take on a serious big brother role and it means sharing more of himself, and she sharing more of her life, than before. Likely including the secrets of the Makai.
