Plot Summary
Nina and Victoria are identical twins who aren’t close and have divergent lives. Nina dropped out of law school and works at a bakery. Her source of joy is regular hookups with someone who frequents the shop. Victoria? She is the consultant who is getting married, and pegged to be the favorite.
However, the truth is Victoria is an escort working her way out of the business, and she needs Nina to handle her last client – a man named David. He’s intense and potentially dangerous, but while Nina dropped out of law school, she has a $150,000 debt, and with Victoria pushing she could make tens of thousands of dollars in one night; how can Nina refuse?
Well, she should have.

Victoria
Nina was always the wild child of the twins, but after a certain point, her career was expected to slow her down or at least close the chapter of her ways. Unfortunately, though, all it did was send her on a different path that might be less wild but still worrisome to the family.
Nina
Victoria was the responsible one, the golden child. But it seems she holds secrets the family didn’t expect – or her fiancé.
David
David is the CEO of Linxel, and he is known for being a wolf in his industry. He has destroyed many companies and has a level of intensity and paranoia that has made it so he has gone through a lot of escorts, usually dismissing them out of boredom after 5 minutes. However, Victoria is different.

Highlights
The Pace Is Quick
While barely above 90 minutes, depending on the film, that can feel like forever. However, with “Twin Lies,” thankfully, time flies by since it doesn’t really dwell on details. The twins having issues isn’t dived into like this is a serious drama. It’s expected that two people who look alike will have problems, and it gives an example of what led to their issues in the latter part of the film.
As for David? Thankfully, Shaun Benson plays him in such a way that you care for more about the present and future than anything dealing with his past. So, like with how Victoria reveals why Nina and her aren’t close, David breaking down his rise from analyst to CEO is handled succinctly, so you don’t find yourself wanting to dig into all the details because the present is moving fast.
David’s Intensity
With that said, Benson made this movie. Seeing the sisters heal their relationship was sweet, as was the romance between Nina and her regular. However, Benson as David made “Twin Lies” worth focusing on. As David, that intensity, his presence, not knowing if he has caught onto Nina’s lie, that drove the film. Especially because you would hear all this stuff about David and Benson knowing how to live up to the rumors.
So, as things got intense, you didn’t know if David was capable of violence if he broke his rules, would it lead to a hot and steamy moment between him and Nina, and the way he would keep you guessing without trying to be mysterious made for a notable performance.
