I Still See You Ending (Spoilers)

We learn Mr. Bittner was part of Dr. Steiner’s experiment to bridge the living and the dead. On top of that, we learn he has been framing Brian for the murders when, in truth, he has been killer young women with the hopes he could use them to act as doorways, so his daughter could come back to life. For with her haunting him, dying the way she did in that lab over and over, it seemingly drove him crazy. Hence him choosing Ronnie for she and his daughter shared the same birthday so there is hope that the closeness they had would make her the perfect candidate.

Alas, Ronnie figures out he is trying to kill her so she runs and they end up at the frozen like Robert, Ronnie’s dad, used to take her ice skating. As Mr. Bittner tries to kill her, Ronnie breaks the ice and they both go under. While there, they learn it is true what Dr. Steiner said before he killed himself. Remnants can interact with the living as Brian saves Ronnie and another Remnant, Mary I believe, drags Mr. Bittner to the bottom.

Leaving us thinking Ronnie will be okay but she can’t get herself out of the lake. Luckily, Kirk gets there in the nick of time, after Mr. Bittner tried to bury him alive. Luckily, his father, who he was never able to find or see after the event, saves him and allows him to get to Ronnie in time. But, with us seeing Mr. Bittner’s remnant at the end of the movie, it isn’t clear if he may not still try to save Eva.
