How Did It End?

Lainey and Ethan’s ex, Fiona, go to Ethan’s weekend house after Celeste disappears. Ethan, who used Celeste’s depression and how he drove her crazy to get a conservatorship over her, had Celeste tied up and finally through with Ethan. But, while the ladies get the upper hand on Ethan, they don’t get justice. Fiona, who wants revenge more than justice, is stabbed with the muscle relaxer that was used on Ethan, and then Stephanie, one of Ann’s minions, shows up, masquerading as a cop, and takes both Ethan and Fiona away.

It isn’t until Stephanie is long gone does Lainey or Celeste realize something is up, and by then, Fiona has been killed and framed for murdering another person who failed Ann. As for Daniel? He is chastised for not following the rules of consent and is berated and told he is a sub who will never be a Dom as Ann has him raised into the air using the rope technique he used on Celeste.

Is There Sequel/ Prequel Potential?

With Lainey and Colette not knowing what happened to Fiona and Ann having Ethan tied up, there is a lot to explore in a sequel. Lainey and Colette could look into what happened to Fiona, hear about the murder/ suicide, and want more information. Also, Ethan still has a conservatorship on Colette, which you cannot instantly resolve, so she may go after him to ensure that she is released from his care. Hell, the film could even dive into what a conservatorship is and the hell it puts people through.

Also, as noted in the review, there is much to learn about Ann, her come up, what she is into, and who she knows. Flashbacks could be had to further establish her, Ethan, Stephanie, and the other one’s relationship. There is really a lot that could be done going forward.
