Episode 10 “On to the Next One” Storylines/ Recap
And The Verdict Is: Ozzie, Jax, Bill, Stephen, Vince, Rosie, Eddie, Chelsea
Ultimately, Ozzie is found not guilty, but rather than celebrating with his mom, who invited him over, he first decides to party with his friends, and realizing they are bringing drugs and trouble to his doorstep, he takes up Jax on her offer to join her family for dinner. As always, he enjoys himself, at least until everyone leaves and Jax notes she believes Ozzie should go to rehab, and she has already arranged for Haven Renewal to pick him up.

Naturally, Ozzie is not happy about this, but he seemingly understood he needed to go. Unfortunately, however, he decides to do one last bump, and that bump leaves him dead in Spenser’s room.
Before Ozzie’s death, though, things weren’t necessarily rosy for Jax. Yes, she won the case, but Bill showing his behind and now trying to get on Jax’s good side rubs her the wrong way. Though, in his defense, Stephen and Vince have been acting funny for a while, and throw in Chelsea accusing Eddie, and Eddie doing the same, it is all a bit much for Jax. Her professional life has one too many backstabbers, and then her sister and dad are trying to throw each other under the bus; it becomes too much.
Then, with Ozzie’s death, it leads Jax to realize she needs to make a major change in her life.
What Happened to Wendy That Night?: Sal, Wendy, Kristin, Alex, Ozzie, Daniel, Jax
While Ozzie is dead and innocent, there remains the question of what happened to Wendy? Kristin originally lies to Daniel about what happened, and him telling what she said to Jax gets the ball rolling on her wanting the truth.

So, what is the truth? Sal killed Wendy. The longer version? That video between Ozzie and Wendy led to them having a fight, which spilled onto the lawn, which we previously saw. From Ozzie’s house, Wendy went to Sal’s home, of all places, to threaten exposure of the family and all they’ve done, and to make matters worse, while they are having a verbal altercation, exchanging threats, she spat on him.
Sal then hit her, she hit her head on the table, thus knocking her out, and then Sal coerced Kristin to help him take her to the cabin, tied up, where, seemingly, they were going to make her sign an NDA and get her out of their lives. Ozzie, getting high with Alex, sees she is at the cabin and has Alex take them there, using this GPS tracker or shared location data to guide them. Ozzie arrives, shocked by what he saw, but no sooner than he tries to untie Wendy, he either ODs or he passes out – with Alex outside by his car.
As Sal tends to Ozzie, and Kristin gets some water, Wendy escapes, and chases after her and Sal shoots her. After the first bullet, she is still alive, so Sal tracks her down in the woods and finishes her off. Kristin gets Sal to confess to all of this, and the next thing we know, Sal is being arrested for murder since Jax and the police were listening in via a hidden cell phone.
Oh, and as for Daniel’s relationship with Kristin? Well, that’s over.
Life After B(H)S: Bill, Autumn, Sally, Vince, Stephen, Jax, Monica, Lewis, Daniel, Krystal
Between Bill being brought on as a partner and voting him in being treated as a formality, alongside springing on Jax that Goldwynn and Carson are acquiring BHS, she has had enough. She just won a high-profile case, is sick of the politics of her job, so she quits and decides to open her own firm, with Daniel and Krystal coming with her.

Now, the episode skips past her formally quitting, finding a building, whether she plans to seek out different types of clients, and all that, maybe to be done for the next season. However, it does end with us seeing Bill and Sally still together, Autumn’s baby, Aria, and later Monica pointing a gun towards Lewis, Daniel, and Jax, at Jax’s new firm, with next season likely beginning with the fallout from her firing.
Other Noteworthy Information
- Lewis finally fires Sam after learning from Lena that Sam lied about having a girl, issues with having a child, and that he has basically been lying about doing work.
- Corey and Brandy are engaged
- Jax finding Ozzie OD’ing is what she was screaming over to start the season
Question(s) Left Unanswered & Predictions
- While Sal is going down for Wendy’s murder, how involved was Kristin with Alex’s death? The facts regarding his situation still feel a bit murky – from the family-endorsed beat down to it almost seeming like Kristin made sure he died in the hospital.
- How is Spenser going to feel about Ozzie dying in his room? Never mind, with that being where Ozzie died, does this mean Jax’s family will have no peace since fans are likely to show up there to leave flowers, candles, and more?
- How much time passed between Jax quitting and Monica threatening to shoot her, her husband, and her people?
Review and Commentary
Highlights
Sam Being Put Out To Pasture [82/100]
Sam’s storyline crashed and burned, and even when it had a chance to recover, the writers seemingly just didn’t want to invest in Lewis’ work drama. So, Lewis finally firing Sam put an end to what could have been a work friend, if not friend/mentee storyline, never mind an exploration of hiring those who look like you, and instead of getting a Krystal, getting a Sam.
I do hope, though, despite how this Sam storyline went, Lewis will get another chance to show his life as an individual, outside of what’s going on with Jax or their family.
The Cliffhanger Ending [84/100]
A new business, with all the familiar faces, and Monica showing up, looking deranged and ready to shoot? This was a quality ending. Granted, like being served a lawsuit in the last season, does this seem like it has legs? No. However, considering how the show sped through Jax setting up this new business, there is the chance it may build up to Monica pointing that gun at Jax and the crew, which wouldn’t be the worst thing.
I will say, though, I’m hoping that with Krystal studying to take the bar exam, she not only survives and passes the bar next season, but we may get to see her take on her first case. Heck, I’d also like to see her personal life a bit more, since we’re removing so many characters from BHS.
The Potential Of Bill v. Jax in the Future [83/100]
Per Deadline, season 4 is happening, and while we don’t know when it will be released, it is clear that Jax needs new lawyers to go up against. With it not being clear who her law firm will cater to, comes the question of whether Jax v. Bill may happen. It seems likely to stir up drama, since Bill and Sally are together, and this could cause friction in Sally and Jax’s relationship.
Mind you, the fight may not even be in the courtroom, but via Jax building clients since, as shown, Jax often took on the high-profile Black cases, and with her billable hours being one of the largest of BHS, it is going to cause issues with her leaving. So that out-of-courtroom fight could be notable, never mind, while Jax has mainly focused on criminal cases, who knows if she may go civil, just to be petty and embarrass Stephen, Vince, and Bill.
Though we could also see Krystal go civil and take to task those who disrespected Jax.
The Music Selection [81/100]
I don’t know the budget of Reasonable Doubt or Forever, but their soundtracks are top-notch. From Mariah Carey to Mary J. Blige, Sade earlier in the season, the music wasn’t solely used for the sake of familiarity but to enhance the scene and remind you how much music, especially by Black artists, can fill in a moment better than any dialogue.
On The Fence
Ozzie’s Death [77/100]
It was starting to feel like Ozzie was becoming the younger sibling Jax never had, and to me, while he didn’t need to become a series regular, popping in every now and again would have been nice. He softened Jax in ways that I don’t think happens often, and considering how they lessened the roles of Jax’s children, thank goodness, I feel like there was enough space for Ozzie to be someone she checked up on, had lunch with, and we got to see progress.
On top of that, I feel like with her vicariously healing through advocating for him, he could have returned the favor in terms of showing her grace, reassuring her, especially regarding her parenting, and when it comes to Eddie and Chelsea, I think he could have still been used to push Jax to have grace. But instead, they used him to add to Jax’s trauma, and considering how she shifted her work after she wasn’t able to save Damon, it should be interesting to see what changes come from her winning Ozzie’s case, but him losing his life in her home.
How Things Are Left With Eddie and Chelsea [74/100]

For both Eddie and Chelsea, things were left on an ellipsis, and honestly, I wish they were set up so that, similar to Lewis’ brother, there was a chance we may see them once a season, but they wouldn’t play an active role. Chelsea, and her drama, could be a means of Jax trying to save her in a way she couldn’t save Ozzie, but it is hard to say whether the execution might be good.
Then with Eddie? I feel like he has had his time. Yes, there are additional mysteries with him, like what he was talking about with his sponsor, and what he might be hiding. However, like Mama Lu, the bulk of his influence on Jax feels showcased, and to dwell on what he did or did not do would be a disservice to Jax’s autonomy.
Overall
Our Overall Rating [80/100]
While an imperfect finale, the third season of Reasonable Doubt didn’t end on a whimper. There was a good high while watching and when things were over, there may have been things you wish they didn’t do, or made clear wouldn’t continue in the next season, but the fact this was renewed early still feels like a blessing. Not just for those behind the show but also for those who have been loyal to it since the beginning.
