  1. GAG! Yeah he’s gross. Zora needs to get it together. Sophia trying to be a good cousin, and tell Zora the truth about her “Lil” boyfriend, but she doesn’t want to see it. Yeah she is a teenager, but it is CLEAR that, that boy is up to NO good.

    1. But he is fun apparently and makes a good “mate.”

To be honest, based off how those two were in season 1, I was sure Zora would have been a bad influence but it seems Grace raised Sophia right. If she didn’t simply get lucky.

      1. What do you think is going to happen with Bishop and that Rochelle lady?

I don’t like it one bit. That Rochelle lady better tread lightly when it comes to the Bishop. With everything that Lady Mae has dealt with the last thing she has time for is, for a young woman to catch the Bishop’s eye. Along with the Bishop, he BETTER act right!

        1. I don’t know to be honest. If she came onto Jacob, I’d imagine he’d be tempted into an affair. But with James, him and Mae don’t really have any problems. So, at best, she may make Mae jealous and raise an eyebrow. At worse, it may make Mae think she maybe should go see Aaron’s father for a bit.

          1. Which is the last thing that any of them need right now.

            What about Kevin?

I want to believe that Kevin at the very least is Bisexual. We saw how he wanted Aaron and how he gave into him. Yet even with that, we have 3 other scenes in the same episode that have me thinking that he is still in love with Charity. I think that it would be better if he was bisexual, because with the history between K/C we know that there was definite love between BOTH of them, we see how much he fought to still be with Charity, and how he got emotional when Charity said that they were friends. Although, it could have been him just being overwhelmed with everything he had done while she was gone, and him not knowing how to express it. Thoughts?

            1. I would love to see some bi-sexual representation, especially for Black men, but there is this lingering feeling that Kevin is just plain gay. It is just, with Charity he tried his damn hardest to appear and be a straight man. To the point he… hold up. How was their sex life?

I was going to say that he fell in love with Charity since he was following what he thought he had to do but then I realized that there is so much you can fake right? Outside of this show “Masters of Sex” I have no other means of understanding, what I guess can be considered, down low people, so I’m unsure how far can one person go to seem straight.

So maybe he is bi, but I think repressing his homosexual urges might be why he has only looked at Charity, and men, and no other women while we’ve known him.

              1. Yeah. Although I’m trying to wrap my head around Mae and Aaron’s dad (Blanking on his name). When exactly did they hook up. Has it been said that Mae did have an affair or what? i honestly forgot, if so, what was it that brought them together? With everything going on will Mae seek out the dad again, even if it is just for emotional support, and a ear that will listen to her, who doesn’t have any ties to the family? Then again, with that full body slap that Mae gives him, who knows what will happen lol

              2. They were going to run away together but then Mae decided against it. I’m trying to remember if that was before or after she married James…

But, I think with Mae only really having James right now for support, it may lead ole’ boy to come back in the picture. Everyone is talking about having a life outside the church and I don’t see why Mae can’t join that band wagon.

              3. Oh yeah.

I don’t know, I want for Mae, and for everyone really, to have life outside of the church of course, but I love Bishop and Mae. I think that they balance each other out. I love how Bishop is able to handle all of Mae’s iciness, and how he is really the only person who she will listen too. There cute together too, for an older couple lol. I mean

              4. I need to see more happy, and functional, older Black couples. It was one of the main reasons I used to watch Being Mary Jane back in the day.

              5. I love to see older black love as well.

I gotta say that hospital scene with Lady Mae, Bishop, and Grace still gets me. I mean Grace even though she was in rough shape, she kind of to me, reverted back into a little girl. When kids do something bad, or have been through something traumatic, and how they just cling to their parents, that is all that I saw while watching that scene. Also it’s Lady Mae, I mean apart of me didn’t know how she was going to react lol I didn’t know if she was going to go off on Grace herself or what. Glad to see that Mae and Bishop just embraced Grace, and told her that they loved her .

              6. Nah, I think Mae kind of gave up on her brother a while ago but didn’t want Grace agitating him either. So when he died, it may not have been how she would have preferred, but at least no other girls would be hurt.

                Hence the conflicting feelings.

              7. That scene got me either way lol Then on top of that, we got like what two different hugs with these last two episodes between Mae and Grace! Man I’m shook lol

              8. And they didn’t seem awkward or forced either! I thought the water would freeze for hell had to have frozen over.

              9. Yeah, I honestly hope it lasts between the two of them lol Mae and Mavis have to get right and then things may finally fall back into place. Finger crossed.

              10. You know we got to plan for some drama somewhere in there. Like Grace and Darius breaking up and him doing a scathing article – holding nothing back.

  2. That’s funny lol We will definitely see Mavis again. There is just so much emotional turmoil between the two of them that it is gonna take more than just one sit down between the two of them, and one conversation before they even begin to come together again as sisters.

  3. I liked this episode. I don’t know if you seen the preview for the upcoming episodes, but it looks like the rest of the season is going to be intense!

      1. Love this emotional, and vulnerable side of Lady Mae that we have been seeing with these past two episodes.

        1. I’ve always thought of her as vulnerable hence why she almost always seemed on the defensive. Money, and James to a point, have been a shield but not a reliable one.

          1. Yeah, since season one, we have seen that there was more to Lady Mae, than just her quippy, shaddy one liners lol

I’m not surprised that it took Mae 30 plus years to tell James what happened to her, with her father dying and now Mac, do you think that with those two people now out of her life, that she felt like she could be truthful, like the constant reminders, and spirits of what happened were now gone?

            1. I don’t think that at all. I think the issue is that the people who bore witness are gone and with Mavis and her having such a strained relationship, she needs someone to know what happened. Someone who will listen and believe her. And while her dad probably wouldn’t admit to one thing or another, his actions proved her memories as fact. Then with Mac, considering the man he evolved into from seeing her father do these things, that also made it so her nightmares she was forced to acknowledge as memories.

And I think, at this point of life she is in, she doesn’t want to hold all these secrets anymore. Keep the people who love her, or try to, in the dark just because it would ruin this facade. She’d rather bring them closer than push them away due to pride or pettiness. For that is perhaps what kept her and Mac apart, maybe why he became the man he did. Then with Mavis, their secrets and lack of communication has made them estranged. So with all her family is going through right now, I think there is a hope putting things out in the open will make them stronger vs. drive them apart.

              1. That makes sense. Like despite everything her and Mavis have been through, she may just finally be like F**** it, I want my sister back, I want my family back.

I see how difficult it is for Mae right now as well. She wants to mourn for her brother, but remembers everything that he did to her daughters, and other women’s daughters, just that never ending sense of just guilt and same, and generational curse of incest, and sexual abuse that has ran through their family.

              2. Which is probably why she keeps speaking on who he used to be than what he became. She is trying to separate the two almost as if they are different people. Something James seems unwilling to do. Hence also why she wants Mavis back for she is the only other person who remembers the good times, much less when Mac was a good person.

Though, unfortunately for Mae, all Mavis may do is bust her bubble. Assuming we may ever see her anytime soon.

I’m just happy in the previews I saw good ole’ Basie Skanks. No idea why Grace was calling him though, Unless she is really trying to get the hell out of dodge and burn every bridge so she can’t return.

              3. Only once, but I’m starting to forget what I saw since I was just looking for Basie.

It’s so hypocritical how much I post spoilers yet I avoid watching previews XD
