Most of the episode deals with Meteora theorizing how the creators can change their creations, creating quite the boring experience.

Episode Focus: Rewrite (Meteora, Matsubara, and Selesia)

After that fight with Mamika, which ends with a woman named Scarlet rescuing her, most of the episode from there focuses on whether or not Selesia’s powers and look can be changed in an instant. On his own, Matsubara can’t do it. Then, even with his illustrator, Marine, still there is no instant shift. So, Meteora figures that for something to be real, if not canon, the people must believe. For, it is noted, just these characters coming into the human world required a certain level of popularity. So any changes would likely require the passion, dedicated, and love of the people as well.

Commentary

I really want to like this show, but something about Meteora drains me to the point I feel inclined to take a nap after watching each episode. For there is something about her voice, and her long hypothesis, that kill any energy and intrigue this show has. I mean, characters are meeting their creators, being spoiled their horrible futures and have opportunities to question their pasts, but Meteora is taking up all that time with her theories. Making the fact we will meet her creator in the next episode worrisome. For, if anything, I’d rather see less of her than more.

However, thanks to she and Selesia feeling like they are becoming a burden on Sota, they seemingly will move in with Marine now. Thus, possibly, cutting out the boy we first met and forcing Meteora on us even more.

Subplot 1: The Rejected (Girl in The Military Uniform)

Setsuna, who assumingly is the girl we saw die in the first episode, may just well be the girl in the military uniform’s creator. But what is really interesting is that Setsuna knew Sota and that he, supposedly, is “part of the world that banished” her.

Commentary

I’m starting to think that maybe Sota stopped drawing after Setsuna died. Perhaps he is the Marine to her Matsubara. But it would have to go deeper than that right? Maybe he decided to go out on his own, rejected Setsuna’s ideas and among the various other things happening, that drove her to suicide? Either way, it seems now that Sota isn’t going anywhere. Though, even with this reveal, Meteora has me feeling like someone dropped something into my water.
