Money Isn’t a Major Issue, But Secrets Are: Geese, Rudy, Aisha, Roxy, Zenith
As an adventurer, money was a major issue for Rudy. However, it isn’t clear what his status is now with a huge mansion of a home, and at least eight people living there. Is he well off? Is he just making it? From what it sounds like, he hasn’t worked much since the labyrinth, but at the same time, when Geese gives him his share from that expedition, with Paul’s share, he treats it like it isn’t necessary to keep the house going?
Yet, with acknowledging his wives are working, there seems to be guilt. It isn’t clear if it is guilt for he is just a student or him not bringing in the money he used to. However, it seems not working has allowed him time to focus on his personal relationships.
Zenith, while still a bit distant, is gardening with Aisha, and there is hope that, with this being one of her former hobbies, this may get her back into a more normal state of mind. Also, when it comes to Aisha, Rudy and her couldn’t be closer. Granted, she blackmails him to keep a plant which seems to be the cousin of the alien from Little Shop of Horrors, but part of her blackmail includes not caring he is a perv, because he is her brother. But, trying to discard the plant does push her to threaten whether Roxy would feel the same about her panties in a sanctuary.
Things go Aisha’s way, and she acknowledges Rudy was just worried about her, but it doesn’t lessen how their dynamic is very much intact and potentially growing.
A Test To Be A King Class Water Mage: Roxy, Rudy, Sylphie
For reasons unknown, Rudy makes quite a fuss at school regarding Roxy teaching him King Class Water Mage magic. It becomes so bad that people report him, and Sylphie thinks it originally was something sexual he wanted to coerce Roxy to do. This led to some jealousy until she realized the truth.
After that, they go out into a field and Roxy shows how to do a lightning strike, which takes a lot out of her. Rudy, on the other hand, does it with ease, and with that, he is now considered a King Class Water Mage.
Holding Onto This New Normal: Rudy, Sylphie, Roxy

On the way back home, a conversation begins which addresses the dynamic between Rudy, Sylphie, and Roxy. Roxy presents herself as an interloper; Sylphie is lucky she got to Rudy first, for she couldn’t compete with Roxy, and Rudy, silent during all this, feels lucky to just have both. Which leaves us to question: when Eris shows up, will she join this delicate balance or, similar to the Dolsias, have a matrimonial duel of sorts? Even if Rudy is already married.
Review and Commentary
The Question Of Whether Sylphie Is Truly Okay With Roxy Being a Second Wife
Does anyone else feel like Sylphie is trying to be chill about Roxy joining the dynamic? Granted, Sylphie just had a kid, so her attention is a bit split, but it does feel like she is trying to be open and kind about the Roxy thing, because of Rudy’s intense relationship with her. I mean, whether she knows or not, he does keep her underwear at an altar.
On top of that, Rudy is a bit of a perv, and while Sylphie is starting to look more mature, Roxy looks the same way she did when Rudy met her. There is a lot here worth asking in terms of whether Sylphie is going to regret opening up her marriage and Eris hasn’t even shown up yet.
Highlights
Seeing A New Class Of Magic [81/100]
Admittedly, it doesn’t feel like a big deal now to see such a powerful spell, but you know eventually, something or someone is going to threaten Rudy’s peace. We’ve had two episodes of establishing his routine and making it seem his life has found a new normal. That completely pushes the idea that something has to disrupt what is going on and make these new skills useful.
Aisha and Rudy’s Relationship [83/100]

One of the long-term draws of Jobless Reincarnation is the relationships between characters, and while Rudy’s romantic relationships are rocky and Eris’ return will likely lead to something explosive, things are sweet between Aisha and Rudy. In my mind, this is one of the most healing relationships for Rudy, especially if you consider his last life.
Why? Because she is his little sister who not only knows him and his less appealing traits, but accepts him for who he is. I would even say, compared to Eris, Roxy, and Sylphie, there is something pure about her relationship with Rudy. She doesn’t love him because he is strong, cool, or even a leader. That’s simply her big brother who is nice to her, encouraging, and makes her feel loved and welcomed. Also, while she may have some insecurities because of who her mother is, he openly refutes them.
So seeing her willing to blackmail him, as much as it is messed up for her to do that, I feel like it also says that, despite how she spoke about her insecurities in Season 2/ Episode 16, she is past that now. They have a solid relationship where she knows she can push and play with him and not lose him in the process.
Overall
Our Overall Rating [82/100]

Yes, there is a desire to see things pick up, but I don’t think it is wrong for the show to remind us of what there is to lose when Rudy faces a threat. It isn’t just about his property or his life; it is about everything he has built. Whether it is the friendships, the family, the relationships, it all matters, especially since, in his past life, it ended without having any of this.
So in these episodes, reestablishing what he has to lose, and why he trains and studies so hard to keep it, as much as it is hard to give this show the grace and time it needs to build up to something happening, there is also a need to recognize the little moments build up to those akin to that lightning strike.
