Episode 20: What God Is Seeking

Overview

As we learn how Embryo broke Alektra, the survivors of Arzenal begin to plan their next move.

Topic 1: Change in Command – Hilda & Jill

Topic 2: He Will Break You/ Don’t Take Everything Away From Me – Salia & Ange

Review (with Spoilers) – Below

Topic 1: Change in Command – Hilda & Jill

With Jill having sex dreams about Embryo, in Hilda’s eye, and it driving her decision making toward a selfish direction, she gives up the role of command to Hilda. Leading to Hilda’s plans of rescuing Ange to gain traction, especially since she very well maybe in love with her. Even to the point of sharing her with Tusk if she has to.

Commentary

With there be being little to no signs of a season 2, at least from a basic Google Search, I guess the show is coming to an end. Making this episode, at least for those in Aurora, to be just a setup for the end. For between Rosalie’s confession that she loves Chris, and Hilda not denying she loves Ange, you can tell one is bound for heartbreak and the other bliss. Though with the change of power comes possible smooth sailing when it comes to DRAGONs joining Norma. Especially since Hilda will probably be less demanding over a deal. I do wonder however, in order for Ange and Tusk to end up together, will Hilda be killed off? Leading to Tusk and Ange’s first child being named after her – since this seems like the kind of show which would do that.

Topic 2: He Will Break You/ Don’t Take Everything Away From Me – Salia & Ange

With Ange taking up all of Embryo’s time, it naturally is making Salia jealous. After all, Ange storming into Arzenal is what lost her Jill’s favor, led to her losing access to Villkiss, and ultimately led to many of her would-be friends leaving her to essentially die. So, not being one to repeat history, she tries to threaten Ange’s life, and simply provide her the ability to escape, just so she won’t lose this one last thing worth holding onto. And despite Embryo making it clear he wants Ange, though not to Salia’s face, she tries her best to push Ange to vacate the premises. Something Ange finally does once Embryo turns pain into pleasure in her mind and make it so she is insatiable.

Leading to the finale of the episode in which, after her escape, Ange climbs Villkiss, with Momoka, and they begin to leave. And, as they leave, we see Salamandinay. Someone who appears thanks to Momoka showing mercy on Rize, and having her payback her kindness with helping her and Ange’s escape.

Commentary

With Embryo talking about destroying the world, since Mana users are turning out to be just like humans, consider this the beginning of the end. Question is though, will we get to learn Embryo’s origins before this is all over or will he remain the mysterious villainous figure who haunts the dreams of any woman he touches? It is hard to say but, I gotta admit, even 20 episodes in I’m still quite curious about where this may go and how it may all end. For with destroying the world comes the question of what the new one may be like, if a new one can be made at all.
