Storyline Recap
A Deal With The Devil – Harper, Anna, Petra, Yasmin, Eric, Otto
With Harper, the easiest way to work with her, or be friends with her, is recognizing she puts business over the personal. So, as long as you work with her and her desires, you’ll be fine. Look at Yasmin. As it becomes clear Harper is making a move against Anna, all Yasmin wants is to make sure she benefits from Harper’s moves – and she does.
Harper betrays Anna, gets in bed with Otto (not literally, but financially) and while Petra begins to realize who she has got into business with, she recognizes the benefits. She just may have to be wary of not living up to Harper’s standards. Eric knows this oh too well and one could submit that using Pierpoint as a middleman for Harper may have less to do with Yasmin and more to do with Eric trying to tank Harper’s career. So now she is going to make sure his depends on it.
DEI To DOA – Eric, Henry, Frank, Harper, Anna
It should be noted though, Harper might be at the beginning of a revenge tour more than simply seeking to humble Eric. The timing couldn’t be worst since Eric’s insecurities are growing both in his personal and professional life. From wondering if he can still perform in the bedroom, to sale a product like Lumi, things are getting difficult.
What doesn’t help is a man named Frank, who works for Pierpoint, not delivering the type of report Eric needed to boost Lumi’s stock in the long term and with Harper deciding to announce during a Q&A the report, and further push the idea that Eric was holding a panel that in reality was a funeral, let’s just say Eric and Henry both left that devastated. Of course, what didn’t help was Anna on that stage too, looking like an idiot.
But, as noted above, Harper is more than willing to have collateral damage in pursuit of something greater for herself. Plus, it isn’t like she didn’t give Anna opportunities to promote her and use her talent. This is just the consequence of not utilizing Harper when she had the chance.
Share With Me The Same Courtesy – Caedi, Yasmin, Henry
Yasmin being on this trip was because of Henry, and being that most who encircle Henry either have jokes or animosity towards Yasmin, she doesn’t enjoy herself. But, after Harper explodes Lumi’s stock, Yasmin and Henry find themselves alone and Yasmin is shown a different side to Henry. He talks about his dad ending his life and how that affected him, and it is hard to say whether that was meant to seduce Yasmin.
What is known though is with the stock tanking, despite what Henry said, he is ready to sell and it leaves his assistant, Caedi, likely the only woman alive who truly knows all sides to Henry. Yasmin just knows what he feels like.

Highlights
Harper
A lot of characters similar to Harper often are just catalyst. They stir up trouble and then step back as what they did plays out. Harper, however, as we’ll probably say whenever we talk about the character, is both a catalyst for change and drama, and one of the guiding forces of the show. While she has had no interaction with Henry, this season’s big fish, she has notable had a influence on his product at this point.
Heck, despite Eric’s attempt to humble or destroy Harper, look where she has ended up in, I believe, less than a year? She has gone from Eric’s employee to a client he likely can’t afford to lose. I’d even say, from the majority of labels you can put on Harper, from her being a Black woman, young, what have you, she is one of the top villains in English scripted media right now.
Henry’s Two Faces
Most characters on “Industry” don’t show their true face. Faking it till you make it is the name of the game, and most are long time players. We see that with Eric, Yasmin, and many others, but Henry’s seduction of Yasmin, only to show himself a coward and sell his stocks the first moment he has alone, was comical.
In a way, it gets you to appreciate those like Harper who may play both sides, but brings her person to each and every interaction. To say you know Harper is to say you know her, with the only missing piece being what she considers in her self-interest at the time. But, with Henry deciding to sell, it does leave you to wonder what is the future of a character who is selling his major asset and now will simply have his title? Is this the end of Henry’s time as a power player, and he gets diminished to Yasmin’s boyfriend?
Only time will tell.
