Review (with Spoilers)
Topic 1: The First Time – Max and Taylor
With them dating a few weeks now, and Taylor wanting to experience everything and more with Max, having sex seems to be what is next for them. This is despite the weirdness of having sex with your twin’s ex, the fact they just met a few weeks ago, and only officially dated for perhaps 2 weeks maybe? But with them really into each other, and Taylor being less and less conservative due to Carter’s influence, among other things, she is ready and willing. Thing is, Max is so into his own head that the first round has to end early. For it isn’t a performance thing, like him being unable to get it up, but he is so worried about being her first, being good, and in fact being her best, they decide to postpone it.
Thus leading to him going to her place, randomly, when everything isn’t setup to be perfect, and them likely having sex. Something which Elizabeth catches and surprisingly doesn’t flip out about. Making me wonder if she really liked Max that much that she has 0 issues with her daughter having sex? I mean seriously, imagine if Carter and Gabe were having sex in her room! There would be such a huge deal made of it.
Topic 2: You Lied! – Carter and David
With the discovery that David lied about Lori, and has been writing Finding Carter all this time, there is a low simmering anger. The type which isn’t Carter’s usual blow up, but more so a sense of disappointment. For with her really growing close to David, all his screw ups, lies, and manipulations has really gotten to her. Though what makes the situation weird is while Carter mentions her disappointment, David cries. Something which I questioned whether it was genuine or not. For while you recognize he is a butt head, at the same time he did yell at Elizabeth about her making him seem like a loser in front of their kids. So maybe he was ashamed of himself for hurting Carter in the pursuit of trying to seem like a better dad than he is.
Topic 3: Diamonds End Trust & Friendships – Carter, Bird, Ofe, Crash, and Elizabeth
Leading to the meat of the episode which deals with Ofe being in debt, Bird loaning him some jewelry to pawn, Bird’s parents returning after 8 months, and Carter getting blamed for the missing jewelry. Now, throughout Carter getting the blame I was wondering why she, of all people, had to deal with the BS? Crash I could understand not getting the blame since he is on probation, but Ofe’s business isn’t known by the cops so he could have gone down, and Gabe certainly could have taken the hit. So why Carter? Is it like what Taylor said and Bird is just envious of Carter and, while her friend, she picked her as an easy scapegoat for some twisted little reason?
Maybe she wanted to have Carter in prison so she could maybe steal Crash and get him back? Who knows? Either way, she was all set to testify against Carter until Ofe guilt her out of being a little butt head just because she was fearful of her parents further distancing themselves from her.
However, even with her apologizing to Carter’s family, she isn’t able to apologize to Carter. You see, since Ofe was too scared to pawn the $100,000+ worth of jewelry, Crash did it. And when Ofe made a bet which got him out of debt, Crash decided to use that money to bail out Carter. So, as of the end of the episode, thanks to Elizabeth not believing Carter when she said she didn’t steal the jewelry, and the whole Finding Carter debacle, Carter lets David’s book end up in pages on the side of the road as she seemingly is ready to begin messing up her life once more with Crash being her partner in crime.
Things To Note
- Grant is briefly in the episode, and unfortunately he is punished for Elizabeth finding David wrote Finding Carter behind everyone’s back. You see, Elizabeth made some cookies for Grant’s bake sale and when David learns Elizabeth took his book, David breaks Grant’s cookies.
- We learn Bird is Ofe’s bank, sort of speak. Meaning either she holds his money, helps back up his bets, or simply helps in case something happens. I’m not fully sure.
