Film Summary
The creators taunt the beautiful story of a married couple at a high point in their lives. By introducing the doting pregnant wife, Shayla, and her preoccupied husband, Marcus, the audience is met with conflict off the bat. The interests of Marcus’ bar Flirt and home immediately conflict, especially after introducing an unforeseen vocational counterpart. Raquel, aka Rocky, is the primary disruptor of peace, while Tamika and her best friend’s grief group unite. Everything from threats, coercion and manslaughter was an option to the psycho-bitch Rocky. From Raquel’s perspective, it was to ensure a married man was rightfully hers.
Marcus has the support of a friend and co-owner, Swiss, during the tumultuous undertaking of two major commitments. Raquel is seemingly a gem at the start with her connections and grit until malignant intentions are revealed.

Review
Our Rating: | Mixed (Divisive) |
Notable Performances or Moments
Dujuan Austin (Marcus) was able to portray the mixed emotions of a man in an increasingly complicated marriage. Sarah Cigan (Raquel) compliments the film with her extreme meltdowns and persuades the viewer with severe irrationality.
Highlights
After the first birthday of their unborn child, the married couple can reconcile when an unmarked baby-care package arrives and finally connect again. This moment calls attention to the beauty and strength of their relationship despite all the hardships.
Low Points
The most uncomfortable moments surround Raquel’s delusional pursuit of the married Marcus and his estranged wife. If the viewer can deal with her abrupt and strange come-ons to a married man, they will thoroughly enjoy the movie.
On The Fence
Infedelity, directed by Sherell Brown, 2023, (BET+)
The relationship between Marcus and Shayla typically takes place within a bed or kitchen and is not explored much. Considering the duration of the film, the creators added more value to the connections between side characters. More development between the couple might evoke more meaningful emotion from viewers when the two meander on opposite paths.
